Hello 23.
Fashionably late to my own bday post bc I was too busy welcoming my 23rd year with a week of family and friends.

Dear 22, there’s a reason Queen Swift wrote a banger about you. This past year was a dream.

I remember a year ago having no clue what I wanted to do. The first year I didn’t ski full time (minus the years spent rehabbing) felt daunting. But instead it became the year I stepped fully into myself.

Landing dream jobs in sports media. Commentating the Olympics. Hosting on WWOS. Working with the NBL. Sitting trackside at F1. Travelling and eating and dancing and drinking my way around the world with my best friends. Slowing down for family. Finding balance in nature. So grateful for this life, these opportunities and my people.

Full year. Full heart. Full circle.

So 23, there’s a lot to live up to. I’m keen 🥂✨

I was 15 years old when I joined Protect Our Winters Australia . 8 years down the road, we’re still working towards the same goal, and we just wrapped up a few days in parliament w some of our POW crew to push for a national alpine adaptation plan.

I learned a lot being a part of this conversation. Here’s some things worth noting:

- Our last ten years are the hottest years on record.

- Cabramurra, the highest town in Australia and the town I spent my winters in digging our front door out of the snow, has now officially warmed over 2 degrees.

- This is the highest amount of carbon any human has ever been exposed to in history.

- We need to stop fossil fuels. Not up for discussion.

- We have twenty years until our ski seasons won’t be long enough to financially support themselves.

- We have the best, most amazing and incredible scientists working on adapting and solving these problems.

- Every single politician we sat down with, from all parties (which was a lot), agreed this issue needs to be addressed, and felt passionately about it.

- Don’t wear heels in parliament.

I don’t list these things to scare you. I list them because it’s what we know, and what we know, we can solve.

So for you: vote, invest and bank with the right places, and donate to and sign with Protect Our Winters Australia because they rock.

I fear my purpose in life is to watch tennis in the sun. 💛

My world has always revolved around sport. I don’t mean playing it professionally, I am talking about the dinner table convos, the connection with family and friends, the lessons. But some of the first memories of truly loving sport are the sleepovers at my grandparents’, staying up all night just to watch Wimbledon. (In Australia, so yes, ALL night.)
I’ve wanted to see these greens since I was a kid. Today was unreal. I love tennis. I love sport. 🎾🤍

Ps. everyone thinks Aussie summers are hot. We have nothing on British heat. I am dying.
