🏐 WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK – YDNA JUNIOR NETBALL 🏐

As we begin planning for 2027, the YDNA Committee would love to hear from our 2026 Friday Night Junior Netball families.

This year we made changes to the format of our junior competition, including moving from team entry to individual player entry in our junior divisions, with the aim of creating more even teams and a positive competition for all players.

We'd now like to hear what you thought worked well, what could be improved and what you'd like to see in 2027.

The survey covers all areas of our Friday Night competition, including NetSetGo, Rookies, Under 11, Under 13 and 14–17.

🏐 YDNA 2027 REP SQUAD REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN! 🏐

Registrations are now open for players interested in trialling for our 2027 YDNA Rep Squads.

💙 Under 11 | Under 13 | Under 15 | Under 17
Teams will be dependent on the level of interest received.

COACHING PROGRAM
📅 Tuesdays – 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th October
TRIALS
📅 Thursday 29th October
📅 Thursday 5th November
📅 Tuesday 10th November
⏰ Session times will be confirmed once registrations close and will depend on the level of interest in each age group.

Players must attend at least 2 trials to be considered for selection, unless prior approval has been given by the Rep Coordinator.

Get your team together for 8 weeks of Spring Netball!
📅 Commences: Wednesday 7th October
🏐 8-week competition
⏰ Game times: 6.00pm or 7.00pm
💰 Cost: $35 per player
📣 Umpires: Each team is required to supply their own umpire

YOUR NETBALL COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU 💙

Have you ever thought about getting involved with YDNA but weren’t sure what was involved?
Our committee is made up of people who care about providing great opportunities for players, families and clubs. As some members step back from their roles, we’re looking for new volunteers to join the team.
The exciting part? We’re reviewing roles and looking at ways to share responsibilities and split the workload, making volunteering more manageable.

You don’t need:
❌ Previous committee experience
❌ Extensive netball knowledge
❌ All the answers

You do need:
✅ A willingness to be part of the team
✅ A desire to support our players and families
✅ A commitment to helping our community grow
Support, guidance and handovers will be provided.

🏐 Expressions of Interest – Spring Ladies, Mixed & NEW Walking Netball Competition! 🏐

Yarrawonga & District Netball Association are seeking Expressions of Interest for our Spring Netball Competition, running on Wednesday nights from 7 October to 25 November (8 weeks), with the final week being Finals Night.

We are looking at offering:
• Ladies Netball
• Mixed Netball
• NEW Walking Netball – for the first time!

🚶 What is Walking Netball?
As the name suggests, Walking Netball is a slower-paced version of netball where players walk instead of run. It's a fun, social and inclusive way to stay active, suitable for all ages and abilities.

⏰ Games will be scheduled at 6.00 pm and/or 7.00 pm, depending on the level of interest.

At this stage, we're simply looking to gauge interest, so you don't need to have a team organised. Individuals and teams are both encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest form.

Competition Coordinator Wanted

We are also looking for a Competition Coordinator to oversee the Wednesday night competition.

The role would be fully supported by the YDNA Committee, with the main responsibility being to help run the competition on Wednesday evenings. Tasks such as registrations, fixtures etc can all be completed by the committee if preferred, so the role can be tailored to suit the successful person.

If you're interested in coordinating the competition, please indicate this on the Expression of Interest form or get in touch with us for more information.

We'd love to see this competition become a great social addition to our netball calendar. Please share this post and encourage your family and friends to register their interest!

The Tungamah Football Netball Club is incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our junior netballers who represented the Yarrawonga & District Netball Association throughout the 2026 representative season.

Under 11 Representatives
• Annabelle Delaney
• Demi Pearce

Under 13 Representatives
• Milli Pearce
• Taylah Chessels
• Charlotte Wren
• Georgie Burns
• Annabelle Buerckner

Under 15 Representatives
• Torah Blick
• Asha Kelly
• Billie-Jo Buerckner

These athletes not only represented their association with distinction, but several also earned recognition at higher levels. Taylah, Annabelle, Torah, Asha and Billie-Jo were all invited last year to trial for the Bendigo Academy, with Torah and Asha successfully joining the program this season.

In addition, Billie-Jo has been invited to trial for the North East Academy later in 2026.

Throughout the season, our players competed across the region, travelling to Albury, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Echuca and the North East Association Championships.

Both age groups enjoyed success across multiple tournaments, with the Under 13s winning at Albury and Wangaratta and finishing runners-up in Wodonga, while the Under 15s claimed Division 2 wins at Wangaratta and Echuca.

The standout achievement came at the North East Association Championships, where the Under 13s finished 4th after the preliminary rounds before defeating Shepparton and Albury to claim the North East Association Championship title.

This remarkable victory earned them a place at the Netball Victoria Association Championships Finals Day in Melbourne. Having five Tungamah athletes in this representative side is something we celebrate with immense pride.

A special acknowledgement goes to Tahnee Pearce, one of the Under 13 coaches, for her leadership and contribution to the team’s development.

Their achievements reflect not only their personal dedication but also the strength of our junior development program and our coaches.

Congratulations to all players on a brilliant representative season. We look forward to seeing what they achieve next!

🏐 That's a wrap on Friday Night Netball for 2026! 🏐

Our youngest netballers in NetSetGO and Rookies enjoyed their final session for the season and were treated to a Freddo Frog and juice box, kindly donated by Woolworths Yarrawonga. 🍫🧃 Every participant also received a Certificate of Participation to recognise their fantastic efforts throughout the season.

The junior competition concluded with three exciting Grand Finals:

🥇 Under 11
Swifts defeated Lightning to take out the premiership.

🥇 Under 13
Thunderbirds defeated Fever to claim the title.

🥇 Under 14–17
Non Poms 2.0 defeated Mulwala Football Netball Club to become premiers.

Congratulations to all our players on a wonderful season. It has been fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and improvement across all age groups.

A huge thank you to our coaches, umpires, team managers, scorers, canteen helpers, committee members, volunteers and families. Your time and support make Friday Night Netball possible, and we truly appreciate everything you do.

Thank you also to Woolworths Yarrawonga for their generous donation for our youngest participants.

We hope everyone has a wonderful break, and we look forward to seeing you all back on the courts next year! 💙💛

🏐 Last Night of Friday Night Netball – This Friday 🏐

This Friday is the final night of NSG, Rookies and Junior Netball for the season.

NSG and Rookies will play at their normal time of 4.00pm, with Junior Netball Grand Finals for all age groups commencing at 5.15pm.

Good luck to all teams competing in their Junior Netball Grand Finals — we look forward to seeing everyone take the court and finish the season together.

A big thank you to all our players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, families and supporters for your support throughout the season. We appreciate everyone who has helped make another great year of Friday night netball possible.
