🎾 TUESDAY MEN’S COMPETITION 🎾

Our extremely popular Tuesday Men’s Competition commences on Tuesday, November 10!

The competition will run for 13 weeks, finishing in mid-March.

Players enter individually and are then placed into teams. This means that each of the three sets you play each night will be against opposition of a similar standard, making for competitive and enjoyable tennis for everyone.

It’s a fantastic way to get back on court, meet some new people and enjoy a hit!

Whether you’re a regular player or looking to get back into tennis, we’d love to have you involved.

🎾 YARRAWONGA 30+ DOUBLES TOURNAMENT 🎾

The North East Seniors Circuit is back for the 2026/27 season, with 15 tournaments held throughout the region.

All tournaments are doubles events for players aged 30 and over. Entries are made individually, with players then placed into groups of four or five. With a guarantee of four sets to eight games, you are ensured a full day of competitive tennis!

Of course, while the tennis is pretty good, we all know the real reason most people turn up… THE FOOD! 😂

The catering at every venue is simply unbelievable. Challenging tennis, great food and sensational company make for a fantastic day out every time.

The competition will run for 7 weeks, with another separate competition commencing in early February.

Players enter individually and are then placed into teams. This means that each of the three sets you play each night will be against opposition of a similar standard, making for competitive and enjoyable tennis for everyone.

It’s a fantastic way to get back on court, meet some new people and enjoy a hit!

The Annual General Meeting of the Wilby and District Tennis Association is on tomorrow evening at the Water Ski Club, commencing at 6.00 p.m.

This Association is an essential part of our local tennis community and provides competitive tennis opportunities for players across the district.

The Association currently comprises Telford, Tungamah, Wilby, Savernake, Mulwala and Burramine. Teams consist of four men and four ladies, with each player playing four sets per match. Most matches are played on Friday nights, with a few teams playing on Saturdays.

Importantly, the competition has been a breeding ground for many junior players over the decades, providing them with the opportunity to develop their skills, enjoy competitive tennis and build friendships with players from across the region.

With another season just around the corner, it is important that we have strong support to ensure the competition continues to thrive.

If you are involved in tennis in our local area, please make the effort to attend tomorrow night's AGM and help ensure another successful season for the Wilby and District Tennis Association.

Undoubtedly, one of the highlights of our Saturday Junior Program is the two Parent/Child mornings we hold each year.

They are always a great morning of tennis, plenty of laughs and, occasionally, a few torn muscles!

Here’s a little blast from the past, with some photos from March 2018.

There are certainly some local legends amongst these players and it’s amazing to see how many familiar faces have been part of our Junior Program over the years.

Eight years on, the Parent/Child mornings are still going strong! 🎾
