The studio doors are now closed for a little while.
For the next nine days, I'm taking some time away from teaching and work for my very first proper stay-ca-tion in two years.
No big plans.
Just time to rest, read, potter around, spend time with the people (and furry creatures) I love, and let the days unfold without needing to fill them.
The physical Yoga Space will be quiet while I'm away, but **Your Digital Yoga Space is always there** if you'd like to roll out your mat while I'm off.
Otherwise, I'll see you when I return on **Thursday 10 September**.
Until then, I'm practising what I teach.
Rest when you need to rest.
Big warm squishy hugs,

Your yoga doesn't have to live at the studio.
Sometimes you're travelling.
Sometimes you're working late.
Sometimes the weather is awful.
Sometimes life simply doesn't go to plan.
And sometimes your yoga teacher takes a stay-ca-tion. 😄
That's one of the reasons I've been quietly building **Your Digital Yoga Space** into something much more than a library of online classes.
It's becoming a place where you can practise yoga, learn more about yoga, explore Practice Pathways, use guided resources, pause with a meditation or simply find something that meets you where you are that day.
At home. Away. For half an hour. Or for ten minutes.
Your practice gets to fit around your life.
Not the other way around.

In a little over a week, I'm doing something I haven't done in two years.
I'm taking a proper break.
Well... a **stay-ca-tion**. 😄
For nine whole days, The Yoga Space studio doors will be closed and I'll be stepping away from classes, admin and work for a little while.
And I think there's something rather lovely about that.
I talk a lot about listening to your body, slowing down when you need to, and remembering that rest isn't something we have to earn.
Apparently, every now and then, the yoga teacher needs to take her own advice.
So I am.
While the physical Yoga Space will be having a little rest with me, **Your Digital Yoga Space will remain open**, with practices, Pathways and resources there whenever you need them.
I'll share the exact dates before I disappear.
But for now, I'm very much looking forward to nine days of reading, pottering, resting and seeing where the days take me.

One of the things yoga keeps teaching me is that how we practise matters just as much as what we practise.
You can move slowly and still build strength.
You can rest and still be practising.
You can adapt something and still be doing yoga.
You can skip the pose that doesn't feel right today.
And you can change your mind halfway through.
There isn't one right way to practise.
There is simply the practice of paying attention, noticing what you need, and responding to the person who actually arrived on the mat today.
**Your body. Your yoga. Your way.**

Sometimes what you need from yoga is a little more personal.
Maybe something in your body has changed.
Maybe you're returning after a long break.
Maybe you're managing tension or discomfort and aren't quite sure what movements will feel right.
Or perhaps you'd simply like to understand your own body and practice a little better.
That's what Personal Guidance is for.
We spend time looking at what you need, then explore practices that might support you, which could include mindful movement, restorative yoga, breathwork, massage balls, meditation or simply learning different ways to adapt yoga to your body.
My role isn't to give you a perfect practice to follow.
It's to help you understand your own body a little better, so you can feel more confident making choices for yourself, both on and off the mat.

A good yoga practice doesn't always leave you feeling stretched.
Sometimes it might.
But sometimes yoga looks like slowing your breathing.
Learning why your body moves the way it does.
Noticing where you're holding unnecessary tension.
Resting before you're exhausted.
Or becoming a little more aware of how you respond when something feels difficult.
The physical practice is a wonderful part of yoga, but it's only one part.
The more we practise, the more yoga starts to follow us off the mat and into everyday life.
And for me, that's where it gets really interesting.
Practice yoga. Learn yoga. Live yoga.

You don't need to wait until life settles down to practise yoga.
You don't need the perfect morning, a quiet house, an hour to spare or even to feel particularly motivated.
Some days your practice might be a full class.
Some days it might be ten minutes on the floor.
Some days it might simply be noticing that you're holding your breath and taking one slower one.
I think we can get caught up believing our yoga practice needs to look a certain way before it counts.
It doesn't.
Yoga was never meant to be another thing you have to get right.
It's something you can return to, right in the middle of your real, wonderfully imperfect life.
Meet yourself where you are today.
That's enough.

One of the things I often remind people in class is that the pose isn't the goal.
How you meet yourself while you're in it matters far more.
Can you notice when you're pushing?
Can you soften when you don't need to work so hard?
Can you change something when your body asks you to?
And can you let today's version of the pose be enough?
Your yoga practice will change from day to day because you change from day to day.
That's not inconsistency.
That's awareness.
And learning to notice and respond to what you need is, for me, one of the most valuable things we practise on the mat.

Yoga doesn't only happen on the mat.
Sometimes it's the breath you remember before responding.
The stretch you do while the kettle boils.
The five quiet minutes before everyone else wakes.
That's why Your Digital Yoga Space is becoming so much more than a collection of yoga classes.
It's a place to practise.
A place to learn.
A place to return to whenever life feels a little busy.
Inside you'll find gentle practices, Practice Pathways, Companion Guides and resources designed to support you wherever you are.
Practice yoga.
Learn yoga.
Live yoga.
