What a weekend!!
The Aruba Open Junior Tournament 2026 is officially in the books — and what an experience it was!
To be honest — organizing a tournament is never easy. There are early mornings, late nights, a hundred things to arrange and a thousand things that can go wrong. But when you walk into that sports hall and see young players warming up, parents cheering, and shuttles flying across the net — every single moment of preparation becomes worth it.
This weekend we had 46 players — young boys and girls — who showed up, laced up their shoes and gave everything they had. Across 9 categories and 81 matches over two days, we witnessed battles that made us hold our breath, rallies that made us jump out of our seats, and moments of pure joy that reminded us exactly why we love this sport.
Some won medals. Some did not. But every single one of them walked off that court having learned something — about badminton, about competition, and about themselves. And that — more than any trophy — is what truly matters.
None of this would have been possible without the people who quietly make everything work. The ones who set up the courts, keep the scores, manage the draws and make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
To Amber Sybesma and Roland Geerman — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your dedication to this sport and to these young players does not go unnoticed. 🙏
To every parent, family member and supporter who sat in those stands and cheered — your energy fuels these kids more than you know.
And to our organizing committee — you turned a vision into reality. Again. Thank you.
To our 46 amazing players — you are the reason we do this. You are the future of badminton in Aruba. We see you. We are proud of you. Keep going.

Yesterday approx. 50 junior athletes enjoyed a day at the Eagle Bowling they had fun, laughed and almost broke the lanes. A special thanks goes out to the board of the Aruba Badminton!!
