COULD THE IMPOSSIBLE HAPPEN? 🇳🇿🏆🇮🇳
With the T20 World Cup 2026 Final just around the corner, everyone is talking about the powerhouse Indian side. But let’s be honest—has everyone forgotten that New Zealand is the ultimate "giant killer" in ICC tournaments?
The Black Caps have been the most consistent "underdogs" in history, and this year, the stars might finally be aligning for them to lift the trophy. Here are 5 reasons why New Zealand could actually pull off the upset and beat India in the final:
1️⃣ The "ICC Jinx": Believe it or not, India has NEVER beaten New Zealand in a T20 World Cup match (0-3). There’s something about the Black Caps' disciplined style that just seems to rattle the Men in Blue on the world stage.
2️⃣ Subcontinental Spin Wizards: With Mitchell Santner leading the side alongside Ish Sodhi and Rachin Ravindra, NZ has a spin attack perfectly suited for these conditions. They don't just contain; they frustrate the best batters into making mistakes.
3️⃣ Fearless Firepower at the Top: Finn Allen and Tim Seifert have been in terrifying form. If they survive the first 6 overs, they can take the game away from India before the middle order even walks out.
4️⃣ The "Nothing to Lose" Mentality: India is under massive pressure to win at home in front of 130,000 fans in Ahmedabad. New Zealand thrives when the pressure is all on the opposition. They play calm, clinical, and "boring" cricket that wins championships.
5️⃣ All-Round Depth: When you have guys like Glenn Phillips and Jimmy Neesham coming in late, you’re never truly out of the game. They provide that "X-factor" that can turn a losing 150 into a winning 190.
Can the Kiwis finally "break a few hearts" and take the trophy back to Wellington, or is India's dominance just too much to overcome? 🇳🇿🔥

Green shirts fans, don't put away those prayer beads just yet! 🇵🇰🏏
Despite the heart-stopping loss to England and the rain-ruined game against New Zealand, Pakistan is still alive in the T20 World Cup 2026. Thanks to England defeating New Zealand yesterday, the door is officially open for a "Qudrat Ka Nizam" comeback.
Here is exactly what needs to happen for Pakistan to qualify for the Semi-Finals:
📊 The Standing as of Today (Group 2)
England: 6 pts (Qualified)
New Zealand: 3 pts (NRR +1.390)
Pakistan: 1 pt (NRR -0.461)
Sri Lanka: 0 pts (Eliminated)
🧮 The "Must-Win" Math
Pakistan plays Sri Lanka today. Since points are capped at 3 for both Pakistan and NZ, it all comes down to Net Run Rate (NRR).
To overtake New Zealand’s +1.390, Pakistan needs a massive swing. Here are the scenarios:
If Pakistan Bats First: They must beat Sri Lanka by at least 64–65 runs.
(Example: Score 180 and restrict SL to 115).
If Pakistan Chases: They must overhaul the target in approximately 13.1 overs (depending on the exact score).
(Example: If SL sets 140, Pakistan must reach it by the first ball of the 14th over).
🏆 The Scenario
Pakistan wins big against Sri Lanka (meeting the NRR targets above).
Pakistan moves to 3 points and leapfrogs New Zealand on NRR. Pakistan qualifies as the 2nd
team from Group 2!
Who would we face?
If the math works out, Pakistan will likely face South Africa in the first Semi-Final on March 4th in Colombo.
Believe in the comeback! 🇵🇰✨

Is David Hussey the greatest player to never wear the Baggy Green? 🇦🇺🏏
The stats are mind-blowing:
✅ 14,280 First-Class runs
✅ 45 Centuries
✅ 52.50 Average
In almost any other era (or for any other country), he’s a 50-test veteran. Instead, he’s one of the best to never grace the Test arena.
Who is your pick for the 'Greatest to Never Play a Test'? Are we looking at T20 legends like Kieron Pollard? Domestic giants like Amol Muzumdar? Or maybe a "what if" like Shane Bond's limited career?

📢 T20 World Cup Gets BIGGER? ICC Considering a Massive 32-Team Tournament! 🏏
If you thought the 20-team T20 World Cup was exciting, get ready for a potential seismic shift!
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is seriously discussing expanding the Men's T20 World Cup to include 32 teams in future editions, possibly starting from 2028.
While the 2026 edition will stick with the current 20-team format, this proposed expansion reflects the ICC's desire to make cricket a truly global sport, giving more nations a shot at the world stage.
This move would turn the T20 World Cup into the biggest cricketing event in history! It's a huge step for the game's growth, inspired by the increasing success of associate nations.
🤔 What do you think? Should the ICC expand the tournament to 32 teams, or will that dilute the quality of the competition? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Cricket fans, let's talk about the future of Test cricket! 🏏
In an age dominated by T20 leagues, the longest format faces some serious challenges. But is its future as bleak as some predict?
Based on the ICC's Future Tours Programme, we'll see nine teams playing in the World Test Championship cycle over the next few years (2025-2027), which is a positive sign. However, the schedule is heavily weighted towards the "Big Three" of India, Australia, and England, who are playing more Tests than others. We need to ensure that Test cricket remains a viable option for all full members.
So, what should the ICC do to keep the game's soul alive?
* Financial Support: The ICC is reportedly considering a multi-million dollar fund to support smaller nations and ensure Test players are compensated fairly, so they don't opt for the more lucrative T20 leagues. This is a crucial step!
* Flexible Formats: We've seen reports that the ICC is looking at sanctioning four-day Tests for smaller nations in the next WTC cycle (2027-2029) to address scheduling and cost concerns. While five-day Tests are the gold standard, this could be a pragmatic way to increase participation and ensure more series take place.
* Tiered System: A two or three-tier Test structure could create more competitive matches and provide a clearer pathway for new teams to rise through the ranks. This would add context and excitement to every game.
* Emphasize Rivalries: The World Test Championship has already added meaning to every series. The ICC should continue to build on this, promoting historic rivalries like The Ashes and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which consistently draw massive crowds and viewership.
Test cricket is more than just a game; it's a legacy. While it faces stiff competition, its unique challenges and narratives are what make it special. It's on the ICC to protect and nurture this format for generations to come.
What do you think is the key to Test cricket's survival? Let's discuss in the comments! 👇
