Martha Stewart just shared one of the most haunting personal stories of her extraordinary life — and it involves a dinner with John F. Kennedy Jr. just four days before the plane crash that killed him, his wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, and her sister Lauren Bessette on July 16, 1999.

During the RHONY Season 16 premiere on September 8, Stewart, 85, revealed she had dinner with JFK Jr. on the Monday before his death. He had reached out wanting advice about his political lifestyle magazine George, which was struggling, and Stewart welcomed the conversation warmly. But what happened at the end of the dinner is the detail that has stopped the internet in its tracks.

"I said, 'Well, what are you doing this weekend?' He said, 'Oh, we're going to a wedding in Martha's Vineyard, and I'm taking my wife and her sister.' I said, 'Well, who's flying?' And he said, 'I'm flying.' I said, 'You have a copilot, right?' And he said, 'No, I don't need a copilot.'" Stewart then paused and delivered the words that have moved the internet to silence: "I've thought about that so many times that I told him to get a copilot."

The story emerged as Stewart appeared on RHONY to get her makeup done by series newcomer Nicole Daisy Toye — but the conversation quickly turned to JFK Jr. and Ryan Murphy's 2026 FX and Hulu series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, which brought the couple's story back into the cultural conversation this year.

Alix Earle just dropped one of the most surprising behind-the-scenes reveals about Earle Meets World — and it completely reframes everything fans watched on Netflix. The 25-year-old TikTok star confirmed to PEOPLE that when her family first began talks with Netflix about filming their reality series in summer 2025, she and NFL wide receiver Braxton Berrios had not yet broken up. At the time, she was even questioning whether her family had enough happening in their lives to make compelling television.

"I really don't want to do a show that's manufactured drama," she explained. "Then, all of a sudden, it was the most explosive four months ever."

Everything changed in December 2025 when she and Braxton officially split after more than two years together — and the very first full day of production captured Alix moving out of his home, launching the show straight into its most emotional chapter. The series, now streaming on Netflix, charts her journey through the breakup, her family dynamics, and a finale cliffhanger no one saw coming — Alix calling Braxton to ask whether a reconciliation could ever be back on the table, as he paused for several seconds before the show cut to credits.

Alix has since been linked to Tom Brady and Formula 1 star Lando Norris, though neither connection has been confirmed as serious. As for Braxton — she confirmed he told her he does not currently have a girlfriend.

Jessica Williams has cracked the code on working alongside one of Hollywood's greatest legends — and her approach to the Harrison Ford dynamic is both hilarious and deeply respectful. The 37-year-old Shrinking star opened up at the Television Academy's 2026 Televerse Festival in Los Angeles about what her off-camera relationship with the 84-year-old Indiana Jones icon actually looks like.

"For the most part, I try not to bother him," Williams told PEOPLE. "He's a man who's like 84, who's lived a lot of life. Like, I don't need friendship from him. It's just a matter of if he wants to talk, I'll talk. And if he doesn't, that's fine, too." She then summed it up perfectly: "He's 84, and you don't need much nonsense and shenanigans, so save that for your friends in your 30s. I have friends that I get to send stupid memes to and stuff, and I find them really fulfilling. So I don't need anything from him."

The candid confession is made even funnier when you consider that Williams has previously described herself as someone who "lives to irritate" Ford on set — saying "there's nothing funnier than seeing Harrison Ford be annoyed" and that provoking him helps him give better performances. Ford himself once compared her to Yoda, saying "she gets where the jokes are and she doesn't require a lot of talk about it." Shrinking Season 4 is currently in production at Apple TV+.

Cardi B threw the most adorable double birthday bash of the year — and she showed up as the main character. The rapper celebrated son Wave turning 5 on September 4 and daughter Blossom turning 2 on September 7 with a lavish joint Disney-themed party, arriving in a fitted red and white polka dot Minnie Mouse dress, yellow sandals, a Chanel purse, and sparkling Minnie Mouse ears. Her caption said it all: "Happy birthday to my Virgo babies Wave (9/4) & Blossom (9/7) …I love y'all sooo much."

The party was split into two perfectly themed halves — Blossom's side featured pink flowers and Disney decor to match Cardi's Minnie Mouse moment, while Wave got his own Sonic the Hedgehog section complete with balloon installations, carnival games, and giant food stations. Blossom stole hearts in a pink tulle dress with Minnie Mouse details, while Wave arrived in a black Chrome Hearts outfit covered in colorful lettering and carried a Sonic stuffed animal all evening. Big sister Kulture, 8, joined in for family photos and showed off her own runway walk for the camera.

In a touching moment that went viral, Wave was heard in a video saying he wished his dad Offset could be there — and Cardi made it happen. Despite their ongoing contentious divorce, Offset attended the celebration to spend time with the kids, posting his own clips of Wave dancing with cotton candy. The two exes kept their posts separate but showed a united front for the sake of their children.

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Robert De Niro is reflecting on one of the most powerful acts of defiance in New York City history — the decision to launch the Tribeca Film Festival in the weeks immediately following 9/11. Speaking at the People Inc. headquarters in New York on September 10 for the new People Talks live series, De Niro recalled how a casual idea he and longtime producing partner Jane Rosenthal had kicked around suddenly took on an urgent, non-negotiable purpose the moment the towers fell.

"We had talked about maybe doing a festival. It wasn't really a serious conversation. We were sort of kicking it around," De Niro said. "And then when 9/11 happened, we wanted to revitalize the neighborhood, to say the least. And so we talked about actually doing it and we said, 'Let's do it.' Just made the commitment." He also described the festival as "an act of defiance," adding: "We had 120 days, 1,300 volunteers, no money, no blueprint, just an idea and a neighborhood that needed people back in it. This wasn't just about movies; it was about whether downtown was coming back."

Rosenthal recalled the haunting soundscape of those months — the constant helicopters, and the fire trucks whose sirens told the neighborhood whether human remains had been found — and explained their simple mission: "Put on a screening, put on a show and try to provide a new memory." The inaugural festival launched in May 2002, just eight months after the attacks, drawing over 150,000 people back to lower Manhattan. Nelson Mandela attended at De Niro's personal invitation.

The new documentary Tribeca 25, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, is now streaming on Netflix.

Phoebe Bridgers made her Venice Film Festival debut — and she made it completely on her own terms. The 32-year-old Grammy-winning singer arrived in Venice on September 5 to promote Primetime, her highly anticipated acting debut alongside Robert Pattinson in A24's new film, and immediately went viral for all the most refreshing reasons.

At the Primetime photocall, Bridgers stepped out in a sharp tailored black Gucci skirt suit from Gucci's fall 2026 collection, accessorized with oval-frame Gucci sunglasses and Stuart Weitzman Mary Jane pumps — and her visible, unshaven leg hair immediately became the most talked-about moment of the entire festival. Fans flooded social media with praise, with one writing "Sorry I actually might cry — this is the first time I've seen a favourite artist of mine with her leg hair out while wearing feminine clothing" and another simply calling her the "people's princess."

For the Primetime red carpet premiere, Bridgers elevated to an Alexander McQueen fall 2026 whimsical floral lace evening gown in slate gray. But the moment that sent the internet into a complete meltdown came afterward — a candid selfie she posted to Instagram, grinning broadly while showing off a visible armpit sweat stain on her designer gown. "The sweat stains make me feel seen," one fan replied. "PRIMETIME! 🇮🇹" she captioned the post.

Primetime is inspired by real events and follows the making of To Catch a Predator, with Robert Pattinson playing Chris Hansen and Bridgers as one of the show's decoys. The film hits theaters September 25.

She promised she would come back — and on September 12, 2026, in front of 30,000 people at Plenitude Arena just outside Paris, Céline Dion kept that promise. The 58-year-old icon returned to the stage for her first full concert in over six years, kicking off her 26-show Paris residency — and she did not even make it through the opening seconds of her first song before the tears came.

Dion opened with her 1998 French track "On Ne Change Pas" — and broke down within moments, stopping to wipe tears from her eyes before composing herself and finishing the song. She had promised herself she would not cry. She did. "I had promised myself not to cry," she told the crowd. "But I'm so happy to see you all. I missed you."

The emotional speech that followed will go down as one of the most powerful moments of her career. "I made a promise. I made a promise to come back, to be back on stage," she said. "So here I am, singing for you and for me, singing life." She closed with a direct message to every fan who waited: "Thank you so very much for your support, your patience and — if I may say so — I am everything I am because you loved me."

Dion's return comes four years after her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in 2022 forced her off the road, and just two years after her iconic surprise performance of Édith Piaf's "Hymne à L'amour" at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. Her residency runs through October 14, with 10 additional shows already announced for May 2027.

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky are officially glowing — and the details emerging from a source close to the couple are the most wholesome thing the internet has seen all week. Just one day after news broke that the pair had welcomed their first baby together, a source told PEOPLE exclusively that both new parents are radiating joy: "They both beam when they talk about being parents." Of Polansky specifically, the insider added: "Michael seems lighter, happier."

The couple, who got engaged in April 2024 and have been together since 2020, spent the entire summer away from their professional commitments to focus on their newborn — with the source confirming they "both took time off of work this summer to be with the baby." Gaga was also spotted in Northern California holding an infant close to her chest during a quiet family walk — her first public sighting since the baby news broke.

No details about the baby's name, gender, or exact birth date have been shared publicly. Gaga wrapped her Mayhem Ball Tour in April 2026 and has maintained a deliberately low profile ever since — now we know exactly why. The pop icon first told Stephen Colbert last year that motherhood was her "next starring role" — and from everything being reported, she is absolutely crushing it.

Brothers Osborne are addressing one of country music's most talked-about collaborations — and their answer is one of the most refreshing things anyone in Nashville has said all year. TJ and John Osborne opened up to Rolling Stone about teaming up with Cody Johnson on "Born and Raised Hell," the opening track of their new album Watertown, despite the fact that the brothers and Johnson almost certainly sit on very different sides of the political aisle.

TJ was direct and completely unapologetic about it: "Those collaborations had nothing to do with anything other than we respect Cody as a performer and a singer. There's obviously differences there. There's huge differences between he and I. Cody's a great guy, and he may do things that other people disagree with, or I disagree with. But really, the sum of Cody Johnson is an awesome, awesome person." He also pointed out that the mutual acceptance goes both ways: "From his way back to us? He's accepting us for who we are too. And I think that's badass."

John Osborne framed it in the most human way possible: "A lot of our family, we have opposing beliefs, and is it frustrating? Yeah, it is frustrating, but you love them because you can see the human under there. And it goes both ways."

The collaboration appears on both Brothers Osborne's Watertown, due October 23, and Cody Johnson's Banks of the Trinity — making it one of the most cross-genre pairings of the year. The duo also appeared with Johnson at CMA Fest 2026, with TJ calling the experience "great" from start to finish.

The country music world is mourning the loss of Brian "Nashville" Duckworth, the beloved singer and founding member of the West Virginia sibling country group Taylor Made, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at his home in Clarksburg, West Virginia at the age of 56. No cause of death has been disclosed.

Brian's love of music began long before he ever stepped on a stage. Growing up in Taylor County, West Virginia, he and his siblings Greg Duckworth and Wendy Williams were taught to harmonize by their mother — singing together on the back porch while neighbors called out song requests from yards away. That family tradition became the foundation of Taylor Made, the sibling trio that went on to be named Independent Artist of the Year by Nashville's MusicRow Magazine in 2012, open for Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, and Charlie Daniels, and chart their heartfelt single "Things You Don't Grow Out Of" on the Billboard Indicator chart.

Away from music, Brian was known as the "Truck Boss" — a dump truck driver for Wolfe's Excavating who genuinely loved spending his days outdoors. His wife Tina remembered him as "the most humble and selfless" person she ever knew: "He had a huge heart and truly would have given you the shirt off his back. He was a simple man who loved his family deeply and found joy in the things he loved most — singing, hunting, and making people laugh."

He is survived by his wife Tina, six children, four grandchildren, and his bandmates and siblings Greg and Wendy.
