🏆 Maple Leaf International School Football Tryouts 2025 🏆
The Football Tryouts 2025 were successfully held on 1st November 2025 (Saturday) at Road No 8, Dhanmondi Club Ground! ⚽
A total of 76 players from Grade 7 to A Levels showed incredible energy and passion throughout the event. 💪🔥
The tryouts focused on fitness and football skills, where players took part in exciting drills and match sessions testing their stamina, coordination, tactics, and technique.
It was a fun, competitive, and inspiring day for everyone! The enthusiasm, discipline, and true sportsmanship shown by our students made us all proud and reflected the strong sporting spirit of Maple Leaf! 💚⚽👏

Welcome, future champions of MLIS Sports Club!

The MLIS Sports Club is organizing official Football Tryouts to recruit talented players for the MLIS Football Team.We invite all passionate and disciplined athletes from Classes 7 to 12 to participate and showcase their skills.

📍 Venue: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Dhanmondi 8no, Dhaka

🕐 Time:

11:30 AM – 3:00 PM

The tryout will be supervised by our Football Coach, who will evaluate players based on skill, teamwork, and overall potential.

➡️ Important:

•You must bring your School ID Card. NO ENTRY without ID card.

•You must bring 1 copy of your Passport Size photo

•You must arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.

Participation is strictly limited to students of Classes 7–12.

Fahim Fiaz Ahmed Mark, Class XII (June 2024-25), recently competed in the ASIAN AFRICAN PACIFIC POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP held in HIMEJI, JAPAN and was placed 3rd overall representing Bangladesh on a stage with more than 900 athletes, coaches and officials from over 20 countries.
Besides being placed 3rd overall he has managed to get Silver in the Squat event and Bronze in the Deadlift event.
His scores were:
Squat: 190kg/418lb
Bench Press: 107.5kg/236.5lb
Deadlift: 222.5kg/489.5lb
Originally an athlete in the under 66kg category, Mark had to cut 11kgs in 120 days (including a 4 hour sauna session alongside sodium and gut cut to lose 3kg of water weight and finally spitting 500ml and shaving off hair to lose the final kg) reaching weight at 59.0 kgs.
Considering the cut Mark’s scores were exceptional. The final result:
1st Huang Wei-Chen, Chinese Taipei
2nd Zanghi Cody, Australia
3rd Fahim Fiaz Ahmed Mark, Bangladesh
