New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani quoted Mario Balotelli, one of the best strikers in Europe during the 2000s and the 2010s while speaking about his governing philosophy for the upcoming World Cup:
"Mario Balotelli, one of the greatest strikers in recent memory, once said about his muted goal celebrations:
'When I score, I don't celebrate because I'm only doing my job. When a postman delivers, does he celebrate?'
When New York puts out a World Cup that is organized, safe, that runs smoothly and easily... will we celebrate? No, because we're only doing our job."

Despite the odds, Rayo Vallecano have had an amazing season, with the Spanish club featuring a European final, the first in it's history today.
The club's conditions are something to note of. They aren't financial powerhouses, with their record signing only being 11 million euros. Unlike most modern clubs, they don't sell their tickets online either. Other than that, club facilities and their stadium are below par, with their squad having to play at a different stadium two times this season, due to their ground not being in a playable condition.
Despite this, Rayo can etch their names into history tonight, if they win the Conference League final, which can be their first European trophy in the club's history.

The beautiful game, back in work again.
Portugese 2nd division side SCU Torreense managed to complete a massive upset in the Taça de Portugal, one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, and in European football history. With a penalty kick awarded to them at the death of extra-time, they defeated Portugese giants Sporting CP 2-1 to clinch their first ever silverware in 109-year history.
With this, they will be playing European football next season, as they have automatically qualified for the Europa League by winning the cup.
