METROPOLE /// We are supporting our friends from .work and the Brussels Region in the development of a fitting program for the Métropole building.

We kicked off today with a visit of the site and this historical building that is half flooded by the Marais du Wiels. We are even more curious to hear what civic stakeholders from the neighborhood have to say about the future of this building! It promises to be a magical and complex journey.

ALWAYS LEARNING /// We joined the jury for 1st master students architecture at Sint-Lucas Ghent (KU Leuven) and soaked up inspiration!

Congratulations to the hard working students who, in times of Covid, creatively explored the relation between the real world and the digital universe. It looks like we have promising -and slightly perturbating-times ahead.

We’ve gone underground at the Brussels’ Abattoir for the .movement festival. We’re running a personas of soil workshop, giving a human personality to non-human things. You call this anthropomorphisation, a very promising way of getting people to connect to complex problems.

Soil is such a banal but essential part of life and a sustainable future. Yet humans have little care for it. Soilmates (www.soilmates.be) is a grassroots movement mixing food, art and culture, farming and science to help bring people down to earth. Last week we were at the Mille Couleurs farm outside of Ieper to prepare for the 2021 Soilmates event. Join us in on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 for this years program, hosted in some very exotic locations. The first edition sold out quickly.
