Julien naar laatste 8 op Canada Open 🇨🇦

Julien Carraggi is aan een mooi parcours bezig op de Canada Open Super 300. Nadat hij gisteren de Braziliaan Jonathan Mattias klopte in 3 sets won hij zonet van de Japanner Shogo Ogawa. Opnieuw werd het een lange driesetter die pas na een uur spelen beslist werd. Ogawa had gisteren nog tweede reekshoofd Brian Yang uit het tornooi gekegeld. Setstanden waren 21-15, 14-21, 21-12.

Veel succes morgen in de kwartfinale !

Focus on footwork and posture ✅

Picking up and delivering shuttles from and to cones can help players to develop their footwork skills and work on their posture. Using cones instead of just putting shuttles on the floor means that players do their lunges in a more realistic way.

In this example the cones are put quite close to the centre to focus more on quality then on covering big distance.

Singles exercise about controlling the front court with pushes and netshots.

- 2 players play neutral push shots service line to service line
- 1 can play more wide, worker brings pushes more to the centre
- the feeder can choose to invite the worker to play a close netshot (where he wants (worker needs to be ready for this after every push)
- worker plays a close netshot
- feeder plays a high lift
- worker gets behind the shuttle and plays it fast down straight
- feeder plays defence deep into the court
- repeat

Variation :

- the feeder can play (also) more flat lift from the push shot
- worker plays fast down straight
- feeder pushes deep into the cpurt
- repeat

- these two variations can then be combined.

Looking for a fun and dynamic game to start off the session? It can be really easy and simple. Half court box 2v2 where each player is allowed to hit the shuttle 2 times in a row. Players have fun, they have to work together, they have to communicate and they are moving around the (small) court.

Easy exercise to practice all footwork patterns to 1 side of the court :

- the player in the rear court can play drop, smash, clear
- the player in the front can play lift, push, netshot

All shots can be played with different speeds en heights.

Depending the level of the players options can be added or left out.
