🇧🇬 Happy Liberation Day, Bulgaria! 🎉

On March 3rd, Bulgarians celebrate their National Liberation Day, marking the country’s freedom from nearly 500 years of Ottoman rule. This historic day commemorates the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano in 1878, which established Bulgaria as an autonomous state after the Russo-Turkish War.

Across Bulgaria, people honor the heroes who fought for independence with ceremonies, parades, and by laying wreaths at monuments. The iconic Shipka Pass holds special significance, as it was the site of one of the most decisive battles during the war.

🇧🇬 Today is a day of freedom, pride, and unity—a reminder of Bulgaria’s resilience and rich history.

On the slopes, people will dress in traditional Bulgarian costumes, wave flags and ski in a procession from the top of the mountain down to the midstation where the celebrations will continue with music and Bulgarian dancing.
