Curly’s WFC finished their UK tour on a high note, winning their final game of a round robin event of 12-minute, 6-a-side games against three teams from Brunswick Community Centre.

Two goals apiece from Michael Bean and Khomeini Talbot earned Curly’s a 4-2 win after a 0-0 draw and a 1-2 defeat.

Khomeini was voted MVP of the event while goalkeeper Gordon Stewart was voted Curly’s MVP by the other teams.

It was great to finally play “proper” walking football at a familiar pace on a good indoor surface.

We’ve had an amazing time in Liverpool, thanks to tour organizers Jimmy and Chris.
We finish up tomorrow by going to watch Man City v Leeds Utd. Everyone’s already looking forward to doing this again next year!

Curly’s WFC came back from 0-2 down to draw 2-2 with Liverpool FC Community WFC in the second match of their UK tour.

Again, we proved adaptable to local rules - only learning moments before kickoff that we would be playing 11-a-side with running (but not full sprinting) allowed in a game of two 30-minute halves. Our tour organizers Jimmy and Chris helped bolster our numbers!

We held our own against a fitter and more experienced side, with keeper David Chew making some important saves, only conceding one fierce long range effort before halftime. Despite going down 2-0 to a well worked team goal, we fought back with 2 goals from Khomeini Talbot, a welcome late addition to the squad after arriving in Liverpool late yesterday.

Overall it was a tremendous performance!
