Skateboarding Bhutan

Big thanks to Mr. Apichat, Vice President of TESA (Thailand Extreme Sports Association), for the invitation. We headed down to Thailand for X Fest Pattaya, where Singye Rinchen got to compete in his first-ever contest.This was our first time properly dipping our toes into the competitive skate scene. It was sick watching all kinds of action — rollerblading, wakeboarding, BMX, etc etc etc.
We met few people along the way from that side of the world and got to experience something new . but as usual we had a good time with and his boys in Pattaya this time.

Competitive skateboarding is still pretty unfamiliar territory for us, but it was a dope introduction and we’re grateful for the opportunity. Skateboarding as a sport is still unstructured and unconventional in many ways which is why it's not easy to come up with a strategy like other sports . However we will adapt and put in the work. The Johnny Strange Skate Camp officially kicks off today, Tuesday, October 21 (4–6 PM) at Johnny Strange Skatepark, Babena (Bhutan Aquatic Centre)!

Today’s session marks the beginning of an exciting week-long event (October 20–27, 2025) that aims to inspire and empower Bhutanese youth through skateboarding. Participants will enjoy:
👉 Warm-ups and skill assessments
👉 Division into beginner, intermediate, and advanced groups
👉 Trick practice and competition-style training led by international pro skateboarders

Organized by Salad Days “Skateboarding” in collaboration with Bhutan Skates and supported by the Bhutan Olympic Committee

Bhutan Olympics committee In partnership with supported by the strange family will be hosting a skate camp from the 21 first of October to 25 at the Johnny strange skate park. This program is dedicated to training , teaching and promoting skateboarding as a sport. Everyone is welcome to join. No registration needed , you are welcome to just show up.
