OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: DC & BJKC SELECTED PLAYERS

The Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) is pleased to announce the players selected for the Davis Cup (DC) and Billie Jean King Cup (BJKC) teams following the recently conducted selection trials.

The trials were conducted through a Round Robin format, giving all participating players an opportunity to compete and demonstrate their performance, consistency, fitness, and competitive ability.

BHUTAN TENNIS FEDERATION

Billie Jean King Cup 2026 & Davis Cup 2026

The Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) is pleased to announce the selection trials for the National Teams to represent Bhutan at the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup and 2026 Davis Cup.

The Billie Jean King Cup will be held in October 2026, while the Davis Cup will be held from 16 to 21 November 2026 in Bahrain. Exact date and venue for BJKC will be announced in due course.

Registration Process

Interested players are requested to register by completing and submitting the Google Sheet Form along with the required supporting documents mentioned in the form, no later than, Friday, 7 August, 2026 12:00 PM.

Late submissions will not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible in the National Team Selection trials, applicants must:

1. Be a Bhutanese citizen.
2. Be between 14 and 35 years of age. Preference may be given to younger players who demonstrate strong performance and long-term development potential.
3. Be a member in good standing with the Bhutan Tennis Federation.
4. Be free from any anti-doping rule violation and comply with all applicable anti-doping requirements.
5. Be medically fit to compete (supported by a valid medical certificate).
6. Produce a valid Police Clearance Certificate (or other evidence, if required by the Federation) confirming no criminal record.
7. Be residing in Bhutan.
8. Players below the age of 18 years must submit written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
9. Attend all mandatory briefings and activities organized by the Bhutan Tennis Federation as part of the selection process.

NOTE:

Bhutanese players who are currently on recognised tennis scholarships overseas or competing in the NCAA, NAIA, ITF Professional Circuit, or other recognised international competitions may be considered for selection without participating in the Selection Trials. Such consideration shall be based on their recent competitive results, national and international rankings, current playing standard, and availability, as determined by the Selection Committee.

Selection Process

All applications will be reviewed by the Bhutan Tennis Federation. Only applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be notified via email.
Players should note that participation in the Selection Trials is only one component of the overall selection process. Final selection will be made by the Selection Committee in accordance with the Bhutan Tennis Federation's SOP, taking into account tournament performance together with the approved selection criteria.

Players' Briefing

Following the announcement of eligible players, all players are required to attend the Players’ Briefing to be held as follows:

Date: Monday, 10 August 2026
Time: After office hours (exact time to be notified)
Venue: Bhutan Tennis Federation Office

The briefing will cover:

• Selection criteria and evaluation process;
• Tournament format and competition rules;
• Code of Conduct and player responsibilities;
• Training programme and expectations for selected players;
• Administrative and logistical arrangements.

Failure to attend the briefing without prior approval may result in disqualification from the selection process.

National Team Selection Trials

Venue: National Tennis Center, Changlimithang, Thimphu
Dates: 11–14 August 2026
Reporting Time: 8:30 AM daily

Further information, including the tournament draw and schedule of play, will be circulated following the completion of registration.

The Bhutan Tennis Federation encourages all eligible players to seize this opportunity to compete for the honour of representing Bhutan on the international stage.

Registration Open for Summer Camp Participants

The Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for participants who attended the Summer Tennis Camp and wish to continue training by joining the BTF Squad.

Summer Coaching Camp Concluded

The Summer Coaching Camp concluded successfully today, 11 July 2026,which began on 1st July,2026 with the enthusiastic participation of more than 50 children in the U10, U12, and U14 categories.

Throughout the camp, the coaches and volunteers worked with great dedication to provide quality instruction in the basic techniques and tactics of tennis. The training sessions also included a variety of fun games and activities designed to improve the participants' motor skills, coordination, balance, and overall ability to handle tennis balls and rackets.

The camp provided a positive and enjoyable learning environment where young players developed their fundamental tennis skills while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a love for the sport. The successful completion of the camp reflects the commitment and hard work of the coaches, volunteers, parents, and participants.

The secretary general of BTF awarded the certificate of participation to all the participants.

The Bhutan Tennis Federation is excited to announce the 1st Service Cup Tennis Tournament, coming very soon!

This will be the first-ever Service Cup, where all service organizations and departments are invited to form teams and compete in a unique team-based tennis competition.

The tournament format will be based on the Davis Cup format:
2 Doubles Matches
1 Singles Match

Gather your colleagues, build your team, and get ready to represent your service with pride on the tennis court.

SUMMER TENNIS COACHING CAMP 2026

1 July – 11 July 2026

The Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) is pleased to announce the Summer Tennis Coaching Camp 2026, an exciting opportunity for young players to learn, improve, and develop their tennis skills during the summer break.

This year’s camp has been specially designed to enhance participants’ tennis abilities while identifying and nurturing talented young players who may have the potential to join future Bhutan Tennis Federation development and high-performance programs.

Through structured coaching sessions, skill assessments, fitness training, and supervised match play, participants will receive comprehensive instruction in a fun, positive, and challenging environment designed to support their growth both on and off the court.

• Technical and tactical tennis development
• Footwork, coordination, and physical fitness
• Match play and competitive experience
• Sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork
• Talent identification for future training pathways

The camp is open to young players of all skill levels who are eager to learn, improve, compete, and enjoy the game of tennis.
