The National Scout Jamboree 2026, which concluded on 30 May, marked a historic milestone for scouting in Bhutan. As the first National Scout Jamboree in the country to welcome international participation from other National Scout Organizations and representatives of WOSM, the event became a landmark occasion for the Bhutan Scouts Association and a significant step forward in empowering young people through leadership, service, and community engagement.
Among the many inspiring moments of the jamboree was the sight of Sonam Kinley, a Class XI Science student from Chundu Armed Forces Public School, serving as one of the Masters of Ceremony during the closing event. Sonam was part of the immersion programme under the Sports in School initiative, and seeing him confidently take on such an important role was a proud and joyful moment. It was yet another reminder that the impact of the Sports in School programme continues to shine, nurturing young people with the confidence, skills, and opportunities to lead.
