COACH NIJEL AMOS

From Olympic Glory to Building the Champions of Tomorrow

Coach Nijel Amos brings something few coaches in the world can offer , experience from the very highest level of athletics.

A World-Class Athlete, Olympic Medalist, and International Coach, Nijel Amos has lived the journey young athletes dream of.

He made history as Botswana’s first Olympic athletics medalist, winning Silver in the 800m at the London 2012 Olympic Games at just 18 years old. His career at the highest level gave him first-hand experience of elite competition, pressure, preparation, discipline, setbacks, and what it takes to perform when the world is watching.

But his journey did not end on the track.

Nijel transitioned his championship experience into coaching and was appointed Head Coach of the Islamic Republic of Iran National Athletics Team, where he guided athletes to three international medals — Gold at the Islamic Games, Silver and Bronze at the Asian Indoor Championships.

Today, he brings that international experience home through Tatamilawoloto Academy.
