I believe the time to start thinking beyond the Botswana market is now. Our nice products deserve to be shared with the rest of Africa and the world (export). We have to focus on growing our startups and create sustainable jobs. As such, I have organised an online event (zoom) with friends abroad that will feature America based investors who have invested in many African countries to discuss the topic. Go to the comments 👇 to see instructions on how to attend the event on the 24th September 2020 at 1800HRS CAT.

Earlier this year before the corona virus became a pandemic, I had announced that we will be hosting a LinkedIn Local Event. A networking event aimed at connecting people in real life, a meet the face behind the profile event and unfortunately it didn't happen for obvious reasons.

In it's place, I am glad to announce that we will have an online panel discussion with America based serial impact investors who have a track record in investing in Africa. Stay tuned for their profiles 🙏. The event will be on the 24th of September 2020.

Not everyone needs a helping hand.
They just need you to give them your hand and walk with them.
And tell them you are there for them.

It is not what you do during the 40 hours you spend at work per week.
It is also not the many hours that you spend studying every week.
It is about those hours that you spend building yourself, building meaningful relationships that last you a lifetime.

People are not profiles, validate your connections. Human to Human.
People worth meeting.
Your network is your greatest net worth, you never know who will propel you to greatness, who will give you your next opportunity.
Look beyond the job titles, the professions and the qualifications, get to know the actual person on a more personal level.

This college student’s viral LinkedIn post got her a Microsoft internship — and congratulations from the CEO of Microsoft 09/10/2018

Greetings

We are happy to announce that one our supporter and speaker for the upcoming event has been confirmed. We have decided that as part of our first event, we want to touch on the basics, we want to show and demonstrate the power that is LinkedIn to Batswana during our event. Therefore, we can confirm that Miss Akosua Boadi-Agyemang, a stellar and bold home-grown professional and student at the Miami University will join us through live video chat during our panel discussion.

Akosua Boadi-Agyemang grew up in Botswana, in Francistown, but also traces her roots to her native country of Nigeria, due to this she possess a very firm Afrocentric spirit and views which she promotes through her popular campaign on LinkedIn. Her most defining moment came in November of 2017, when she posted on LinkedIn about her search for a summer internship position in the USA, she decided to make a bold move of tagging the CEO of LinkedIn (Owned by Microsoft), Jeff Wiener. The post became an instant sensation and quickly went on to be viral on the platform so much so that she secured an internship with Microsoft in 3 months time and the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella personally liked and commented on her post to congratulate her.

She has been able to met the CEO of Microsoft personally as well as Melinda Gates during her internship. She has also been featured on many articles and blogs, from media houses such as the Business Insider. Follow her truly inspiring story by clicking on any of the links below:

We are now taking the conversation offline, it is your decision to take a bold move and choose to interact with seasoned professionals and business executives. Who else would you love to hear speak at our event? Comment below.
