GOOD MORNING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

FOOTBALL LOVERS, THIS MATTER NEEDS OUR SERIOUS ATTENTION.

Can we please talk about the vulgar, insulting and disrespectful language that is becoming common at our football grounds?

Mafoko a a dirisetsang batshameki kwa lebaleng ga a amogeleswe. Mafoko a a nyatsang batshameki, balaodi, bagolwane le balatedi ba bangwe ga a age kgwele ya dinao — a a e senya.

What hurts the most is that some of these words are coming from ADULTS — people who are supposed to be role models, people who should be correcting the younger generation and teaching them respect and good behaviour.

Re tshwanetse go ipotsa gore re ruta bana ba rona eng fa ba re utlwa re tlhapatsa, re kgoba seriti sa batshameki ebile re tlhaba batho ka mafoko a a botlhoko kwa lebaleng?

Football is supposed to bring communities together. It should be a place where young people can learn discipline, teamwork, respect and sportsmanship — not a place where insults and vulgarity are treated as normal behaviour.

We therefore strongly appeal to all teams, supporters' groups and their leadership: if you have a disciplinary committee, please use it. Call your supporters to order. Speak to those who repeatedly cross the line. Support your team passionately, but do it with dignity and respect.

Let us remember that there are children watching us. The behaviour they see from us today may become the behaviour they repeat tomorrow.

Let us not wait until this behaviour becomes completely normal before we act.

Enough is enough. Let us bring back respect to our football grounds.

Rea leboga.
