Good evening fans and supporters. Our Captain, Joslyn Chavarria, Jr., was involved in a high speed crash yesterday during the Prep Race. As a result, he fractured his arm (between the elbow and wrist), and his calf bone. He also suffered multiple bruises. Thank God he was not seriously injured but he will need some time to recover and he should be well enough to ride the Cross County race. We hereby thank all those kind people who have called and messaged to offer their support and get well wishes to our Captain. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Western Regional Hospital who attended to Joslyn and the other injured cyclists. Thank you very much for your kindness which is much appreciated by Joslyn and the team. He can't wait to be back on the tarmac!

I am Joslyn Chavarria Jr Jr Chav a Belizean cyclist , member of the Belize Coast Guard , Captain and Co-founder of the newly form Ph03nix Cycling Team .
He is also the son of Belizean cycling legend , 2nd place Runner up at the 1981 Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic and 1984 Olympian Joslyn Chavarria Sr.
Cousin of the 1995 Holy Saturday Cross Country Champion Orlando Chavarria 🏆
The year Joslyn Chavarria Jr was actually Born.

Career and Achievements

Chavarria Jr. is an active cyclist who has competed both nationally and internationally:

Recent Performance: In April 2024, he finished 6th in the record breaking time in the 94th Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic.

International Competition :
He has represented Belize in regional events, including Tour for Peace in Guatemala 🇬🇹 in 2024 and 3rd place Medalist at the 2015 U-23 Caribbean Championships in Barbados 🇧🇧 .

Major Wins:
He won the 2018 Belmopan Cycling Classic , 2018 Road Championships has previously secured first place in the Tour of Belize (2016) and the 2015 September Criterium Cycling Classic.

Previous Teams:

He has ridden for teams such as Digicell-4G Elite , 501 Valvoline,Furnished Apartment Limited , Santino's Belize and now the Newly form Pho3nix Cycling Team as participated with U.S.-based teams in tours across Central America.
Personal and Professional Background

Military Service:

He holds the rank of Petty Officer Class 3 in the Belize Coast Guard.

Family: His younger brother, Derrick Chavarria, is also a high-level cyclist representing Belize in international competitions like the Junior Pan American Games.
