Griga Blazers Under-13 Cycling Club

The 2 million dollars donated to the Ministry of Sports represents a powerful opportunity to transform the future of athletics across Belize. This funding can uplift young athletes, improve long-needed facilities, and create real pathways for talent to shine. However, we strongly and respectfully urge that the southern region must not be overlooked in this moment of progress. The south continues to produce disciplined, passionate, and highly promising athletes who often succeed despite limited resources. With fair investment, the impact in the south would be immediate and undeniable.

A truly national sports vision must include equal and intentional support for the southern districts. When the south is properly equipped and empowered, the entire country benefits through stronger competition, national pride, and youth development. We are confident that thoughtful and balanced distribution of this funding will create lasting results that no one can ignore. The main sports commonly played in southern Belize are listed below:
• Football (Soccer)
• Basketball
• Volleyball
• Cycling
• Track and Field (Athletics)
• Softball

Earl Pastor, better known as Cratic, will always be remembered for the joy and good energy he brought to those around him. His smile, spirit, and presence left people feeling uplifted, and those memories will live on. Though he is gone, the happiness he shared remains. Rest in peace, Cratic.

We celebrate Santiago Castillo and the journey he has completed in cycling. Through every early morning ride, every hard race, and every challenge along the way, Santiago showed commitment, strength, and heart. Cycling was more than a sport for him; it was a place where he grew, learned, and pushed himself to be better. His dedication inspired those around him, especially the younger riders who looked up to him. As he steps away from competitive cycling, we thank him for the memories, the effort, and the passion he gave to the bike.
