The Team Canada Junior Roller Derby East Tryout started with something a little unexpected today—a game of Duck, Duck, Goose.

While it may have looked like a simple game, it was also a reminder of what makes our program special. Team Canada is about more than skills and competition. It’s about building connections, creating community, and supporting one another as athletes and teammates.

The laughter, smiles, and energy in this circle are exactly what we love to see. These athletes came ready to challenge themselves, learn, grow, and take the next step in their roller derby journey.

And for those wondering… yes, there may have been a clue hidden in the game. A special little goose will be making an appearance soon. 🪿💛

Thank you to all of the skaters who joined us today. We are incredibly proud of the effort, courage, and enthusiasm you brought to the track.

What a nail biter! 'Block n Rollers' came back in the second half on a mission to win it, we didn't quite make it but we had a fun time trying!

Tri-City Junior Roller Derby is excited to welcome the Block N Rollers to Queensmount Arena on Saturday, May 30th! In our second JRDA Canada sanctioned game, we can't wait to play against the united forces of Simcoe 8 Wheeled Assassins and Hogtown Junior Jawbreakers. Doors open at 3pm; tickets $10 (cash only). BYO chair for trackside seating!
