Sorry gang

There will be no Co****le this weekend, a lot of members (myself included), have previous engagements. The season is drawing to a close. If the weather holds and we have the interest we will keep playing a couple more weeks. Just not this one, see you all soon.

We still can't believe the turnout we had yesterday afternoon for The Final Summer Fling, 54 shooters and seven full courts, the largest we've ever had. A big thank you to everyone who came out, we'd love to see more of you on Saturday afternoons. There is a big co****le community in this park and with the talent we witnessed yesterday, we could put Silent Valley on the map. Next year we are gonna shoot for some inter park stuff with River Place and the other parks around here. They're gonna shake in their Crocs when they hear us coming.

Huge thank you to Joanie for making the awesome plaques, they look fantastic and they are definitely one of a kind! Another big thank you to the horseshoe club for donating our awesome new club boards, we got em just in time for yesterday. One more thanks to Luc and Jay and to EVERYONE who helps us set this thing up and tear it down each and every week, it would be so much work without you.

The players make this club and we are just going to keep growing!!

Saturday was the last chance to practice on these boards before the big finale byop tournament of the 2026 outdoor season.

There were 14 stone faced killers, each strutting their stuff hoping to catch the eye of a wood be partner for the big event.

Steve W and Dar found themselves atop the podium

Justin and Joanie gave them a run and finished a strong second

Judy and Steve E weren't to be overlooked and took home third place honors.

Thanks again to everyone who made this season so great, looking forward to a big turnout on the weekend.

I told you we'd post some after trailer season events to wet your co****le whistle in the winter months, for those of you who have the scoreholio app you already know you can look stuff up in your area This post is to let you know there is another app, it will let you look events up as well, and some tournaments you will have to sign up and pay through the app. This one is the official ACL app and it's available at app.iplayacl.com. it is a free app as well, with pay options for discounts and stat tracking etc.

One tournament worth mentioning if you're anywhere near Hamilton is the Nomads Help our Heroes Fundraiser, in support of the Legion branch they play in, it's on September 27th and it's a great way to meet one of Can@ada's largest co****le families, the most welcoming co****le atmosphere you'll ever experience, and a range of skill levels that includes every player imaginable. I'll put a poster up when I can find one

Last chance to practice on these boards, before the final summer fling, maybe scope out potential partners. We're doing it later so the grass is dry, and maybe to give some folks who have other commitments a chance to join us.

Don't forget, you can sleep in this Saturday, co****le is starting at 12:30, at the pool pavilion, the grass is too wet until later these days. Good news we will be totally shaded for the entire tournament. Now's your chance to join us if your mornings are full, good chance to find out how it all works before the big tournament too. It's up on the APP sign up if you can, but as always just show up if you can't.

It's official, we've booked the final BYOP tournament of the year, it's open to everyone, weekenders, residents and their guests.

When: September 5 (rain date Sept 6)
Where: Horseshoe pits
Entry fee: $20 per team
What time: show up at 11:30 bags fly at noon

It's on the Scoreholio APP please sign up if you can, or text me at 519-369-8072, stop by 66, or flag the cart down with the big black Newfoundland on it.

There will be plaques, cash prizes, 50/50 and a toonie toss. This will be your chance to see how you stack up against all the people you see playing on their yards all summer. See you there.

We are gonna shake things up a bit next week. Co****le is gonna start at 12:30, it takes a while for the dew to dry up this time of year.

It will still be down at the pool pavilion and it turns out that time of the day we are in total shade down there as well, so if it's hot out in the early afternoon, we are in luck.

That's gonna free some folks up who can't be in two places at once as well, so we are hoping to see some new faces as well. If it's a more suitable time we might just stick with this new time.

We'll be glad to see you, the tournament is up on the app, sign up if you can, or just show up at noon.

Don't forget Sept 5 is the last chance for a Summer Fling, gonna be a great end to a great summer season.

11 of us braved the ghouls today, in fact we had to recruit a ghost to make up for the odd number. There were a ton of laughs and some pretty good shooting.

Steve W joined up with the ghost to take home the top spot

Judy and Jason made them work for it, but fell a bit short and locked up second place

Chuck and Luc were the third place team

Weather permitting we're doing it again next week. Gonna try something new, stay tuned for the details.
