Our final winners of the meet came in the hammer throw. Laurie Hayes took home the win for the women and Mark Hanily for the men. Great throwing!

Olympian Obiageri Amaechi flew home as the Books Between Friends 1st place women’s performer. Well deserved, Obi! Thanks for all the autographs whil you were here. And leaving the young throwers speechless. It was great having you!

Paul Sze took home the top discus performance award! Way to go, Paul!

Tracey Arnold secured the Books Between Friends Top Athlete Para award for her Canadian record breaking performance in F56 javelin. Way to go, Tracey!

In the Throws Pentathlon, Books Between Friends sponsored the top 3 placings in both men’s and women’s divisions. Congratulations everyone on surviving the 5 throws and coming out on top!

Starting off the Throws Fest 1 award winners sponsored by Books Between Friends, Liv Sands took home the women’s title. And Sander Sampson took home the men’s. Congrats!

The first of our Throws Fest series sponsored by Books Between Friends is happening August 29th at Glenmore Athletic Park!

We have some incredible athletes joining us and a great crew of officials to run these events off. It is sure to be a fun time! We’ll be running throws from 8:45am starting with the Throws Pentathlon until our last event starts at 4:30pm with discus.

We have Masters, Open, and Para athletes joining us from all over Canada as well as representing Nigeria for this first Throws Fest! The competition will be fantastic and weather looks to be cooperating. Let’s go throw!
