Canadian Blind Hockey is heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Elena Liu Hung.
Four years ago in 2022, Elena joined the Toronto Junior Ice Owls after coming to Summer Development Camp in Halifax and she has been a core part of our family ever since.
From Summer Camp to the Canadian National Blind Hockey Tournaments, the Girls and Women's Summit and weekly practices, she showed up with heart and worked hard.
Elena was incredible Para athlete, and an even more a kind person and teammate.
Elena, you will always be part of our team.
" Elena, your sense of humour, your energy, your ability to make everyone around you laugh, and, of course, your competitiveness on the ice will never be forgotten.
Thank you for making every Blind Hockey event a little more fun, a little more memorable, and always filled with laughter. You will be deeply missed, but the memories and joy you brought to so many of us will stay with us always. Rest in peace!" - Laura Mark, Girls and Women's coordinator, Canadian Blind Hockey
