Be like Gretzky and win at cheering on others to break your own record.
Washington Capitals Ted Leonsis said that Wayne Gretzky has promised to follow Alex Ovechkin around at home and on the road if (when)Ovi comes close to breaking the goals record.
"Wayne knows that Alex is legit. They have a friendship now," he said at the NHL Board meeting.

Let's get pumped!! Emotions are important to performance. Too much or not enough can negatively influence your ability to be your best. It's like putting air in a ball. Not enough air and the ball won't respond very well. Too much air and the ball could explode. I have discovered the importance of managing emotions in a new way with my struggle with post-concussion syndrome over the past several years. Managing emotions takes intentional practice. Breathing, heart rate, and visualization all together can be very helpful in assisting you to manage your emotions more effectively. Message me and together we can win at managing your emotions in the midst of high pressure situations.

Well said, Sarah Hall!
Watching the women’s figuring skating championship, I felt sick. It was everything not good about sports. Doping, win-at-all-costs mentality, power abuse, overemphasis on external results. Childhoods stolen. No matter what you achieve it’s never enough. Contrasted with the joy exuded from Alyssa Liu who finished well off the podium but enjoyed and embraced the moment.
I plan to show it to my girls today as a teaching moment of how sports can either be toxic or empowering- it all depends on your approach.

Emotional traps in sport are common and can be difficult to manage in the heat of competition. Often, players, coaches, referrers, and parents arrive at the game unprepared for the emotional roller coaster of sport. If you find it challenging to manage your emotions in the midst of competition, establishing a mental game plan can be helpful. During the early 1900s psychologist came up with Yerkes-dodsons law or inverted U-theory. It claims that each person's optimal performance in life and sport occurs under the right healthy amount of pressure for each individual. Too much emotion and the physical body tightens up, impacting performance negatively. Not enough pressure and then the body is not in the right physiological state, play is also impacted negatively. This can show up easily when coaching young kids. When their emotions get high they run away from the game to find comfort in their parent. When consistent destructive amounts of pressure are put on children it leaves a lasting mark on their life. Let's win at what matters most!. Let's win at finding and applying healthy amounts of pressure, increasing it little by little to build resilient humans in sport and life. Message me and I can help you put together a mental performance game plan to help you win at life, faith, and sport.
Coaching kids well requires a
clinical touch. If you have played soccer for any length of time you quickly realize that a clinical touch requires a lot of effort. It does not happen over night. Winning at youth coaching begins with understanding 5 aspects of a person. Where are your athletes physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually? A deep understanding of these aspects is essential to winning at having fun, growing as a person before athletic excellence. What have you learned over the years to help you win at what matters most?
