The Rapids O35 Prem Masters squad hosted the visiting North Delta Rangers FC for their Semi-Final Cup Match on home turf at Exhibition Park this past Sunday.
During the regular season, The Rapids record against the Rangers was 1-1-1 (W-T-L). This was the unofficial “ringer match”, and for both squads it was a do-or-die situation. The Winners would move on to the Final, while the loser would, in Delta’s case, end their Season. The Rapids are already seeded in the Provincial Championships but their chances at winning this Cup would end if they lost.
The hometown gents knew that the Rangers would be fielding their strongest squad, so would have to match their anticipated intensity from the opening whistle.
After the coin toss, the Rapids would start with the ball first, and the gents came out flying, launching an immediate attack that continued in waves, thanks to a phenomenal back line, and an incredibly talented Midfield grouping in the middle of the park along with a striking group hungry for goals.
Delta held off the attack until their defense finally cracked when Rapids striker Craig Robinson struck first blood at the 15min mark of the game.
1-0
Five minutes later, Mike Perry made it 2-0
With 7 minutes left in the half, Nick Haywood launched a laser strike that snuck under the Rangers top bar, making it 3-0.
2 minutes later, Nick did it again, scoring his second goal of the night: 4-0.
Then, with 1 minute left in the first half, Defender Zac Yeomans intercepted a Delta pass, ran up the wing with the ball, deking out their wide midfielder, then their defender and potted a goal on the short side net!!
5-0!!
The second half saw goals from:
Joey Chapman, scoring 2 himself for the evening and;
Mack!
Delta managed to get a PK goal and a late, 2nd goal showing their “never quit” character. A good Club, Delta had a rough evening.
Final score: Rapids 8 - Rangers 2
On to the Cup Finals!!

The Rapids Masters Prem hosted Langley FC Bombers in Cup play Sunday evening at their home field at Exhibition Stadium. The Winner would move onto the Semi Finals, while the Season would be over for whomever lost.
The Rapids began their attack from the opening whistle and exploded off the line to an immediatey overwhelmed visiting side, striking at the 1:34 mark of the game when Mid fielder Mike Perry struck first blood, filling the back of the Bombers net.
The Bombers recovered quickly and pressed every angle they could but were rebuffed by a solid Rapids back line, led for most of the evening by Center Back Derek Epp, and supported by Dwayne, Zac, & Beck who were an absolute wall
Until Langley obtained a red card on an ugly tackle against striker Craig Robinson setting up a Rapids PK with 5 minutes left in regulation time.
Mack hammered the game shut by converting the PK scoring the second goal for the host side.
Final score: Rapids 2 - Bombers 0

Rapids Prem Masters travelled to Langley tonight to take on the Bombers on a drizzly evening that threatened to turn into a winter downpour.
They opened up the scoring with a gorgeous cross by Billy Wilson onto the head Ryan Geoghegan, channeling what looked like a Ronaldo style 3 foot leap, onto his head and into the back of the hosts net with 7 minutes left in the first half. Truly spectacular.
0-1 Rapids.
The second half saw the Rapids attacking the Bombers net relentlessly until Craig Robinson slotted what would prove to be the winning 2nd goal.
0-2 Rapids

A glorious Sunday saw the Masters Prem squad travel to Scowlitz Sports field across the River to take on the Misson Mariners while the O50’s hosted Coastal FC at Townsend Park Turf.
The day started with the O50’s, missing their starting Keeper and slotting Championship winning Defender Mike Schue into the role. The Gents got the job done, winning 2-0 and giving Mike his first Clean Sheet!
Goals scored by:
Cam Willmets
Ian Herrin.
MoTM: Mike Schue
Their win was followed by the O35 Men’s Premier squad, who found themselves surrounded by the natural beauty of the Scowlitz Traditional Territory on a glorious sunny and mild winters day.
They must have been inspired because their battle against a clever Mission squad went back & forth in the first half, finally breaking the deadlock with an impossible angled goal from the wideside Mariners corner edge, which curled along the goal line and found the far post and into the net, on what will arguably be the best goal of the Season. Scored by Rapids Nick Haywood mere seconds before the halftime whistle pierced the air.
The Mariners found themselves on the receiving end of a double yellow-Red Card, and down a player which the predatory midfielder Ryan Geoghegan, back himself from a one game suspension, pounced on, making it 2-0 with 22 minutes to go.
Then, with 4 minutes remaining, striker Craig Robinson put the Mariners out of their misery, scoring the final insurance goal of the day.
Rapids Win! 0-3
Clean sheet for Kris Reddemann
Kokanee MoTM: Ryan Geoghegan.
Congratulations Ryan!
(Waiting on results for the Women’s side and will update when received)
