​Off-season training is coming to Cochrane! We are thrilled to announce that we are teaming up in partnership with the Mushkegowuk Council Youth Department to bring an elite training program to our young local athletes. 🏔️⚽🏒
​The off-season isn't time off—it’s time to build. We will be focusing on the vital building blocks of youth athlete development, including:
​🔹 Core Strength & Stability – Building a injury-resistant foundation.
🔹 Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) – Developing explosive first-step power.
🔹 Aerobic & Anaerobic Conditioning – Boosting stamina to outlast the competition.
🔹 Mobility & Recovery – Learning how to take care of the body for long-term success.

As we continue navigating the excitement leading into the 2026 Olympics, it felt only fitting to pause and reflect on some of the opportunities I’ve had as a skating coach. One memory that always stands out is having the chance to work with Olympian Brianne Jenner.
Working alongside such a high-level athlete was more than just a coaching experience—it was an opportunity to learn, to be inspired, and to bring those lessons back to our younger athletes. Experiences like this help shape how we teach, how we lead, and how we encourage the next generation to dream big and work hard.
Proud to share this moment with our very own Canadian, and grateful for the paths this journey in skating has opened. 🇨🇦⛸️✨

🔔 Program Update: Advanced Powerskating Drop‑In 🏒
Due to low attendance for this round, we’re making a small adjustment to tomorrow’s session.
We’ll be running an Advanced Powerskating Drop‑In style tomorrow at 4:00 PM ⏰ at the Tim Hortons Event Centre in Cochrane. This session is geared towards competitive athletes who are playing at competitive levels.
🔹 Details:
💲 $40 drop‑in fee
🚫 No registration needed — just show up
🎂 Birth years: 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012
🏆 Geared toward competitive athletes
🧡 Mushkegowuk youth are fully sponsored — no fee required
