June is National Indigenous History Month

Today is the beginning of National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis Peoples across Canada.

As a hockey community, we recognize that creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, respected, and included is ongoing work. We are committed to continuing to listen, learn, reflect, and grow so that our sport becomes more inclusive and accessible for Indigenous players, families, coaches, officials, and fans.

We encourage our players, families, and volunteers to take time throughout June, and every month, to learn and reflect on the strength, leadership, and contributions of Indigenous communities across Canada.

June is Pride Month!

The Dartmouth Whalers are committed to fostering an inclusive hockey community where all players, families, and volunteers feel respected, supported, and valued.

While Pride Month offers an important opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness, our commitment to inclusion extends throughout the entire year. We know that building a positive and welcoming environment takes ongoing effort, and we are dedicated to continuing to learn and grow together.

Let’s continue building a game where everyone feels welcome β€” both on and off the ice.
