The Dartmouth Whalers are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul “Smitty” Smith.
Smitty was more than a coach and volunteer—he was a Dartmouth legend. For decades, he dedicated countless hours to youth sports, mentoring and inspiring many young athletes while building lifelong friendships throughout our community.
Known for his larger-than-life personality and sense of humour, Smitty brought energy, laughter, and heart to every rink, and his impact extended far beyond the game.
His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, both on and off the ice.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Paul’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Thank you, Smitty, for everything you gave to our community. You will be deeply missed.
