I am so honoured to have my teacher, Shri Prasad Rangnekar back to Dryden this summer to teach this deeply meaningful, and important workshop on self-development.

Over the many years of studying with Prasad, I have always been amazed by the simplicity with which he teaches seemingly profound spiritual truths in an accessible and practical way.

Prasad also teaches around the world, and has been the inspiration behind many growing spiritual communities, such as ours here at Lokah Sangha...which by the way he would never take credit for.

The topic of “becoming your own best friend” is such an important one, especially in today's world. Balancing our responsibilities and finding time for ourselves can be a tight rope walk. As we get overwhelmed and exhausted by stress and busyness, self-care seems to be a good idea. But what does “self-care” actually mean?

Through Prasad many of us at LSY have learned that it's not about those external things like taking bubble baths or ten deep breaths. These things might relax you for 5 minutes, but it's not going to make life-shifting changes.

The idea of "self-care" comes from a much more holistic understanding that nothing external will fulfil our incessant longing for love, peace and happiness.

In this two day workshop we will understand and learn how to be our own friend through the methods of Yoga. Yoga is much more than a physical practice, it is one of the oldest systems of mind and life management.

If to this point Yoga has been an outer journey or physical exploration, perhaps now is the time to recognize "YOU" inside of you that is deeply longing to be your own best friend.
