Canada dropping travel mask mandate and ending COVID-19 border and quarantine restrictions
Breaking news..... thank goodness and long past due!
Canada dropping travel mask mandate and ending COVID-19 border and quarantine restrictions The federal government has announced it is dropping all COVID-19 entry restrictions, including: proof of COVID-19 vaccination and quarantine requirements at the border, doing away with mandatory random COVID-19 testing, making the ArriveCan application optional, and Canada is lifting the mask mandat...
Finally.......
News reports say Canada to remove border restrictions the end of September!
We are anxiously awaiting the official government announcement for full details (?)
Dave and I are praying this is an end to all that should never have happened. Looking forward to welcoming all our guests back!

Congratulations Dominique! A 38” monster of a Northern- well done

Our regular guest doing some dock fishing this am.

Our Showy Lady Slipper is in full bloom. Beautiful!

Happy Canada Day!

May5 was first day of the flooding on 605. Today is road is finally dry. Yay!!!!

A beautiful morning here. Between a little fog and the pollen it looked a bit like ice going out.
Thank goodness that’s not the case LOL

The water is still dropping, can finally see our dock again. Hopefully the weather cooperates and can begin to get things back together and start the cleanup.

Looks like the lake is finally starting to go down, it’s a start. Rain forecast for most of the week but hopefully not much. Doesn’t change our road situation.

I would be thankful if someone could turn the fan from the east off, just until this ice is gone.
The falls today- incredible!
Never imagined being able to do this!

Today’s lake level. Ice is still melting so will be interesting to see how high it goes.

This must be a 25th Anniversary ‘Mother Nature’ Special Addition LOL
Between the damage done by last falls severe snow storm and this springs flooding, will be lots of cleanup.

Flooding of the Rugby River 2022
Spring is a little challenging this year! After a winter with so much snow, this happens. So much water everywhere. Rugby Lake is the highest I have ever seen and came up high before the ice melted. It’s a memory maker!
Flooding of the Rugby River 2022 Residents north of the Rugby Bridge have resorted to water travel to get to Dryden Ont.

Such an exciting time for our family.
Congratulations to our daughter Marti Auger and our new Son in Law Dylan Auger.
We wish them a life time of love and happiness!

For all those that think “it’s so pretty” in December. We have a little more than we need this year.

Freedom for All!
As you all know Dave & I have been very quiet the last 2 years. It has all been so unbelievable and disheartening to watch. First our borders being closed, then the segregation of our friends, family and guests; we could not abide.
As was all too common even our associations let us down through their acquiescence to division- so sad.
Through the truckers ‘Freedom Convoy 2022’ we finally have faith we will unite and freedom will prevail. The Good Lord willing happily welcome ALL with open arms - soon.
Proud to be Canadian; Standing with the Truckers and holding the line.

That one put up a fight!

Solitude in a crazy world.

Well Dave and I finally made it out ice fishing. Didn’t exactly catch what we went looking for but it was fun. Dang him just when I think I did well- he needs to beat me LOL

A hike up the rock to enjoy the sunset!

Birds eye view across to camp. Absolutely beautiful- I will be back some evening for sun set

That time of year again- our Showy Ladyslipper is blooming. Even better is that it has spread and now have 7 other plants nearby blooming
Another beautiful morning!

Took the kids for a drive this afternoon. Nice to run across this.

Looks like rain.

Finally some good news! We can now reopen our cabins for short term rentals. We will be evaluating safety protocols as soon as they are available to best ensure our guests health and safety. We look forward to having guests staying with us again soon. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Wishing you could be here enjoying this with us. Such a beautiful sunset this evening!

Absolutely beautiful day here. Most all ice is cleared out.

Dave and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Such a sad day for us all at Rugby Lake Lodge. Said goodbye to Freckles- part of our family, camp greeter, game retriever and Dave’s faithful shotgun. She will surely be missed.
