What an experience. First and foremost I’m appreciative for all the positive thoughts and prayers for Sarah, we’re back home and doing well.

Worlds. What an experience. The opportunity to play against so many skilled athletes and fierce competitors. The opportunity to talk to so many people from so many walks of life, may be the facet I appreciate the most. Thank you to all the countries that made the trip, congrats to all those that won medals. This year, 4th place, next step, Austria 2024. 🇨🇦

My squad. Incredibly proud to be part of this team. First in the round Robin after going undefeated, came up short in the playoffs. So many positive points to reflect on, so many areas to continue to improve and discover our best selves. I appreciate the opportunity to take the court with all of you, and now we move to Seattle, then Nationals.

So this might trigger some people, but hear me out. The implementation of a protein shake to your meal can make a world of difference depending on what it replaces.

Now this comes in the absence of any particular underlining health issues that may effect your ability to gain or lose weight (hypo or hyperthyroidism for example), but weight fluctuation is calories in vs calories out.

It’s called energy balance. Think of it like a bank account, if you make more than you spend you’ll save money for later. If you eat more than you burn, you’re saving energy for later that gets stored as fat.

Replacing a meal with a protein shake will, more often than not depending on the meal, lower the amount of calories you’re consuming while giving you a feeling of being full due to the density of the ingredients in the shake.

Alternatively, drinking a protein shake instead of water will have an inverse effect. You would then be consuming roughly 300-500 kcal more than if you just drank water. This will lead to the storage of more energy, increasing your weight.

How that weight is distributed on the body is determined by exercise prescription and frequency, but that’s a conversation for another day.
