YEG Summer Cup is an elite summer hockey league in Edmonton, AB. All games take place on weekends in the month of June.

The league hosts fun and competitive hockey games for the best U15, U18 and Jr/Pro players in and around Edmonton. My names Ethan Short, I grew up playing minor hockey in Edmonton for CAC (Canadian Athletic Club). After minor hockey, I would go on to play 4 years in the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League). As my hockey career progressed, I got this feeling that something was missing every summer.

Lachlan Kirkey 🧱
One of the nastiest stops of the YEG Summer Cup so far — Kirkey goes full desperation mode and makes an insane diving backstick save to rob a sure goal 😮‍💨🧤. He played this past season with Fort Saskatchewan U18 AAA and is now locking it down with Team Pembina Pipeline Corporation in the league.

Player of the Game 🎯 – Julien Maze
Julien Maze exploded for 5 goals and 1 assist in a huge showing for Team Bessette Wealth Management, earning Player of the Game in a high-scoring battle.

Maze began the season with the Everett Silvertips before being traded to the Regina Pats, where he went on to lead the team in scoring in the WHL. Pure production every time he’s on the ice. 🔥

Nolan Eastwood was everywhere 🔥
3 goals, 1 assist, and a strong two-way effort in a tight 10–8 win for Team O’Byrne’s Irish Pub. Whether it was burying chances or making plays all over the ice, Eastwood made a statement.

He just wrapped up his season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the AJHL, and his game keeps trending up. 🧠⚡️🚨

Stonetucker Instruments put on an absolute clinic in their matchup against Team Pembina Pipeline Corporation, rolling to a dominant 17-4 win.
Player of the Game honors go to netminder Scott Ratzlaff, who was lights out with 50 saves and an assist, setting a new summer league record for fewest goals allowed in a game (4).
Fresh off a season with the Seattle Thunderbirds and signed to the Buffalo Sabres, Ratzlaff showed why he’s a name to watch.
And to top it off—every single player on Stonetucker recorded at least one point in a full team effort.

Lukas Kaplan turned on the jets and never looked back 🚀
The Everett Silvertips forward—currently playing for Team GFI Solutions in the summer league—burns past the defender and finishes it off with a filthy one-handed backhand dangle 😮‍💨
Speed. Control. Filth.
