We are offering an opportunity for runners to check out the Lakou Backyard Ultra course on May 9.

The address is 26323 TWP RD 511 Spruce Grove T7Y 1E2. However that is nowhere near Spruce Grove but 1km west of Hwy 60 on the south side of Graminia Rd, which is just north of Devon. Look for a red gate with “The Wallaces” sign on a rock wall.

LAKOU BACKYARD ULTRA MAY 16

I checked out the Lakou 6.706km “yard” yesterday. It still has a lot of snow on it but thankfully only a few fallen trees. With just a month to go until race day we are hoping for more runners and are in need of more volunteers.

Lakou is a true "backyard" ultra as it is held in our backyard with the great food we offer, prepared in our kitchen.

We have decided to make a change from offering T shirts as swag and instead runners and volunteers will receive a beautiful coffee mug, big enough for a beer.

Hill of a Race was a great success, thanks to the enthusiasm of the runners and the hard work of the volunteers. Special thanks to my wife Debbi Wallace for putting together the food and copying the hand written results to a PDF. They will be posted shortly.

Congratulations to our winners and all runners that challenged themselves on the slopes of Rabbit Hill Snow Resort. Apparently, for some, it was not enough as it has been suggested we offer a 12 hour option, making it a true Ultra for many. How many of you would rise to the challenge?

After much discussion and some canvassing among runners it was decided it was a good slogan to put on one of the hoodie designs we are offering with registration this year. Four colours available for each.
