The Edson Road Hockey Rumble is only ONE WEEK away, and registration is due Wednesday!

Right now, we only have 7 teams registered. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to run the tournament unless we get more teams signed up, so if you’ve been thinking about entering a team, now is the time!

📣 **ROAD HOCKEY RUMBLE – RULES & REMINDERS!**

🏒 The countdown is ON! We’re just over two weeks away from the Road Hockey Rumble
going down Saturday, Sept 12@ 9AM at
Griffiths Park (Boys and Girls Club)!

🔔 Here’s what you need to know before registering (deadline: Sept 7th!)

👥 TEAMS:

* 4–7 players per team
* Age groups: U7, U9, U11, U13, U16
* Male, female, or co-ed
* 3 players + 1 goalie on at a time
* Unlimited subs (must tag off in your own zone)
* No roster changes after your first game!

🛡️ REQUIRED GEAR:
✅ CSA-approved helmet w/ full face protection
✅ Hockey gloves
✅ Closed-toe shoes
⚠️ Strongly encouraged: jocks/jills, mouthguards, and shin guards

🧤 Goalies:
Can wear hockey shin pads or street hockey pads (no ice hockey goalie gear)

🕒 GAME FORMAT:

* 30-minute games: 3-min warmup, 2x17-min halves, 2-min break
* Playoff format for all age groups *except U7 (round robin only)*
* Late to your game? 5+ mins = forfeit ⚠️
* Rain or shine 🌧☀️

🚨 KEY RULES:

* No offside, no icing, or hand passes allowed
* Face-offs start each half
* Ball out = turnover at exit point (3m/5s buffer)
* Covered ball = restart behind goalie’s net
* **Penalties = penalty shot!** (slapshots, slashing, tripping, high sticks, etc.)
* Multiple infractions = ejection from game or tournament
* Ref’s call is FINAL! ⚖️

📩 HOW TO REGISTER:

$25 per player (e-transfer to [email protected] )
* One team contact fills out the form
* Each team must provide a responsible adult volunteer referee
* **Registration Deadline: Sept 7th!**

Q: who can play in the road hockey rumble
A: we have divisions from U7 all the way to U16 all skill levels and genders are welcome !
All divisions are coed and you can sign up a team of up to 7 players

Q: what do I need to participate?

A: the cost is 25$ per player and players are required to wear closed toed shoes, a CSA approved helmet with a face shield and protective hockey gloves

A: you can either email [email protected] which is checked and answered multiple times a day or you can pick up your form at the Griffiths Park center in Edson

Answer: No previous hockey experience is required we welcome all ages and abilities of youth to participate in efforts to grow the game of hockey
