Red Griffin Martial Arts Studio opened on the corner of Christie St. and Main St. in Grimsby, Ontario in 1997. Now titled GriffinMMA, the studio offers Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and MMA programs 6 days a week.

I have owned and operated the studio since its inception. Although 25 years is a huge milestone, I have actually been teaching in Grimsby for 27 years. My career started when my instructor, Sensei Wayne Wells opened a satellite studio under the banner of Niagara Self Defense Studio which originated out of Welland, Ontario.

What started as an idea in 1995, became a reality in 1997. I heard the word "no" over and over and I faced a ton of challenges, but I have always bounced back each time, and have always found ways to improve.

During the past 25 years, Red Griffin Studio has created awesome athletes, great competitors, and even a few superstars!

"When I opened the Studio, my goal was always focused on helping others realize the benefits of martial arts training. During this journey, I have witnessed some of the best moments and the most memorable experiences I thought were never possible". The last 25 years have been amazing and it feels like I am just getting started.

I would like to thank all of my instructors, students, family, and friends (even my competitors), I have a lot of big things planned for our silver anniversary, and I can't wait to see what the next 25 years bring!
