WE LOVE TO SEE IT 😍🏀

The Mystics Women’s Basketball Team is excited to announce that Sasha Dabb has to MSVU!

A 6’1” forward from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sasha will continue her studies in the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology program at MSVU.

Sasha joins the Mystics following an impressive university career, highlighted by a 2026 AUS Championship with the UNB Reds and a USports Championship silver medal in 2026. She also competed with the Halifax Hornets in the MWBA last season, helping them earn third place.

“I'm beyond excited to be joining MSVU and playing for the Mystics. After getting the chance to play for Mark in the MWBA with the Hornets, I’m really happy I get to continue learning from him this upcoming season. I had so much fun and grew a lot under his coaching, and I can’t wait to keep developing my game. I’m also really excited to play alongside such a wonderful group of girls and for a great coaching staff. For me, this is about growing not only on the basketball court but also in the classroom, and I couldn’t be happier for what’s ahead”.

Coach Mark Forward: “We’re very excited to add Sasha to our program. She brings a great motor, athleticism, versatility and experience to the Mystics next season. Offensively, she’s a true three-level scorer who can stretch the floor, attack the basket and score in the mid-range. Defensively, her length and athleticism give her the ability to guard different positions while also providing rim protection. Sasha brings a skill set that fits extremely well with how we want to play, and we’re excited to add her to our group.”

Welcome to the Mystics Sasha!💙

Over one month since saying goodbye to another MWBA season! 🥲

With such a short season, it’s easy to forget just how intense those 8 weeks can be! We are so proud of our athletes and their commitment this year 🥹.

Let’s give you a quick end of season RECAP 🐝⬇️

👉🏽We finished 3rd in the league after a tough fight vs the Moncton Mystics . We battled hard for 40 minutes against the quick and scrappy NB squad. At half, we went in to the locker room down 10 and knew we only had 20 minutes left in our season - and wanted to make it count! The final score was 73-65 🥉!

👉🏽Our final winner was none other than the franchises first High School Athlete, Ella Hoyt Ella Hoyt ! Finishing with 20 points & 9 rebounds - Ella’s confidence and presence on the court was undeniable! We can’t wait to watch her shine with the Axewomen Basketball team this upcoming fall! 😍

👉🏽🤩 3 of our Hornet athletes were named ALL STARS! 1st Team All Star, Lucy Beaumont Lucina Beaumont and 2nd Team All Stars, Clara Gascoigne Clara and Aki Kobayaski Aki Kobayashi !!!

👉🏽🥲This season ending was extra bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our Coach and Hornets Franchise Owner, Mark Forward. Mark will be stepping down as owner after 5 seasons; 1 Gold and 2 Bronze finishes and a whole lot of lifelong relationships and memories made! 🥲❤️

There will be some changes in our future as we shift gears following Mark’s departure. We are hoping to keep things familiar 😉 and continue rolling with a franchise focused on uplifting women in sport and providing positive opportunities for our athletes to continue playing the game they love at a high level 💓🏀🐝🔒
