Two drivers. One championship. 53 laps to settle the score.

In one corner, the reigning champion Lane Zardo — looking to defend his throne and become the Steel City Super Stocks TWO-TIME CHAMPION! 🏆

In the other corner, Shawn Chenoweth — ready to throw everything he has at the championship leader and knock Zardo off the top spot! 💥

There will be no judges. No scorecards. No rematch.

Just 53 laps of door-to-door Super Stock racing with the Steel City championship on the line!

Tomorrow we will crown our 2026 Steel City Super Stocks champion. BUT, today we take a look back at how we got here recapping our last race.

On our August 15th race night we did not run qualifying and ran twin 30 lap features. In feature #1 it would be Lane Zardo capturing his second 🏁 of the Steel City season.

As we continue to gear up for championship night this Saturday we are taking a look back at the 2026 season.

Steel City vs. Dayco Super Stocks.

It was the battle we were looking forward to. We were joined by the DAYCO Super Stocks Series. During qualifying Lane Zardo would grab the Stewart's Equipment Pole award with a time of 16.481. Since this was a United Racing Series event their invert rule was in place for the event.

Lane Zardo would break through and grab his first 🏁 of the season with the Steel City Super Stocks.

Looking back at race #2 of the 2026 season.

June 20th

During the second race of the season Lane Zardo would once again claim the Stewart's Equipment Pole Award with a time of 16.277. During intermission, Lane would go to the front stretch with the dice and climb the flag stand and get the crowd involved on which way he should toss the dice. Tossing it nearly 60 feet before the dice came to rest and rolling on 3 which would put Justin Collison on the pole for the 35 lap feature.

When the checkered flag fell, it was Shawn Chenoweth picking up his second 🏁of the season in the Steel City Super Stocks. Followed by.....

Let's take a look back at the 2026 season and how we got to this point.

Lane Zardo would pick up the Stewart's Equipment Pole Award with a time of 16.170. Lane headed to the front stretch and aggressively through the dice against the front stretch wall and rolled a 3. That meant the #48 of Coltin Everingham would start on the pole for 35 laps.

Shawn Chenoweth would take home the first 🏁 of the season with the Steel City Super Stocks followed by....

We are back to racing this week and it is championship night!!

This week we race in memory of Flamboro Speedway starter Doug MacLean who sadly passed away in July. We race in his honour for 53 laps!

The points battle is tight at the top with just two points separating Lane Zardo and Shawn Chenoweth. Anything can happen and it's shaping up to be a dog fight.

Join us this Saturday night for a night of hard nose racing action. Racing gets underway at 6:30pm
