Kootenay DanceXtreme Kootenay DanceXtreme is a dance studio in both Kimberley and Cranbrook, BC that offers both recreational and competitive dance programs for ages 3 to adult.

Welcome to Cranbrook and Kimberley’s newest dance studio, Kootneay DanceXtreme! We are dedicated to giving your child a dance education at an elite, professional level which will allow them to grow and learn in a healthy, safe, and positive environment. Each dance class is designed to provide both creative and progressive training which will enhance each student’s personal growth, self-confidence, dedication, discipline, time management, and focus. We not only teach children the art of dance, but more importantly we give them life skills to succeed in the next chapter of their lives. Our highly qualified staff are trained to encourage and motivate every student to excel by giving their best effort. At Kootenay DanceXtreme, we have both recreational and competitive dance programs, offering classes from ages 3 to adult.

🔥GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER! 🔥

Our Showteam dancers had such an amazing weekend training with Ade Obayomi! Ade Obayomi ! The studio was full of energy, hard work, and so many moments of growth as our dancers learned brand new choreography for the season. ❤️🖤

Ade brought so much knowledge, personality and passion into the room, and we loved watching our dancers be challenged, take risks and soak up everything he had to share.

A huge thank you to Ade for spending the weekend with us and creating pieces we are already SO excited about. We can’t wait to watch them continue to grow and come to life on stage! 🔥

And thank you to Shawna & Buddy for continuing to bring incredible opportunities and experiences like this to our KDX dancers. ❤️

We’re so excited to introduce the amazing people who help make KDX what it is! ❤️🖤 Get to know Miss Kaity a little better:

What do you love most about being a Teacher Assistant?
“I love supporting the teacher and watching dancers grow in both their skills and confidence. I enjoy encouraging younger dancers, helping them when they need it, and being someone they can look up to. I also love sharing my passion for dance with them.”

What is your favourite style of dance to take or assist with, and why?
“My favourite styles to take are contemporary and musical theatre because I love the emotion, storytelling, and performance. My favourite style to assist with is jazz because it’s fun, energetic, and lets dancers show their personality while building confidence”

What is something you love doing outside of the studio?
“Outside of the studio, I love travelling, spending time with my family and friends, and exploring new places. I’m always excited to experience new things and make memories along the way.”

What’s a fun fact about you that your dancers might not know?
“I’m obsessed with sloths! They’re my favourite animal.”

What do you love most about teaching dance?
“I love helping create strong, confident dancers and watching them grow both in their technique and in themselves.”

What is your favourite style of dance to teach and why?
“Jazz is definitely my favourite style to teach. I love how versatile it is and how dancers can bring so much personality and style into the movement while still building strong technique.”

What is something you love doing outside of the studio?
“I love spending time with my family, travelling, and getting outside whenever I can.”

What’s a fun fact about you that your students might not know?
“I have two Yorkie puppies!”

What do you love most about teaching dance?
“I love watching the kids grow, Inspiring them and seeing their passion for dance come to life.”

What is your favourite style of dance to teach and why?
“My Fave style of dance to teach is Lyrical. I love helping the dancers get out of their heads, and to express themselves through dance.
But my fave style to dance is Tap, I have tapped since I was 3 and love making music with my feet”

What is something you love doing outside of the studio?
“Outside of dance I love just spending time with my family. Family game night and movie night are the BEST!!”

What’s a fun fact about you that your students might not know?
“I started dance when I was 3 at the same studio as Shawna in Campbell River. We have known eachother for 40 years”

We’re so excited to introduce the amazing people who help make KDX what it is! ❤️🖤 Get to know Jonesy a little better:

What do you love most about teaching dance?
“I absolutely love to watch my students grow in their movements and in their confidence. I love seeing their progress as they build strong foundations at first and then seeing their creativity take off after! It’s my favourite part about teaching!”

What is your favourite style of dance to teach and why?
“I have 2 favourites actually. My first is….and always will be….hip hop. It’s where the focus of my training has been and was for most of dance career. It’s where my foundations are rooted in and I love the genre.
My close second is my adult’s heels class. It’s an empowering class that allows my ladies to feel strong, powerful and confident in. And I love giving that space to my ladies for them to explore this within themselves.”

What is something you love doing outside of the studio?
“I absolutely love going on adventures, bike rides, hikes, going camping, etc….with my baby girl. Any adventure with her….is my favourite thing to do outside of the studio.”

What’s a fun fact about you that your students might not know?
“I’m a 2x UFE World Championship Elite Body Builder. I love bodybuilding as well. “💪🏼😊

“Spending time with friends and family, shopping, travelling, doing pilates, and going to concerts!”

“I love singing and writing songs in my free time”

What do you love most about teaching dance?
“I love seeing my students progress over the year and seeing the sparkle in their eyes when they hit the stage and just have fun!!”

What is your favourite style of dance to teach and why?
“Hip Hop is one of my favourites to teach because I love seeing my students’ confidence and groove grow!!”

What is something you love doing outside of the studio?
“When I’m not in the studio, I’m with family, enjoying the outdoors, or playing Minecraft!”

What’s a fun fact about you that your students might not know?
“I have a rescue dog named Cassanova!!”

A huge THANK YOU to Sam & Katie Prism Dance Connections and Sarah Zeller CR DanceXtreme for coming in and setting some amazing choreography on our Showteam dancers! ❤️‍🔥

We are so grateful for the time, creativity, energy, and knowledge you shared with our kids. They had such a great experience learning from you, being challenged, and bringing some incredible new pieces to life.

We can’t wait to watch these routines continue to grow, develop, and eventually hit the stage this season. 🖤❤️
