Sincerity of purpose is the “moat”.

Posting to express yourself is the most satisfying thing about content. It leads to lasting growth and fulfillment. But it can be a slow climb.

You also need to intentionally create what people need. Structure your content to address pain points. Package it recognizably.

And when virality comes, it’ll meet you ready.

The patient interactions were my favourite part of being a medical doctor. The relationships, the laughter and the conversations. I’m thankful to still be able to enjoy that in other fields. ❤️

I never wanted to hold on to the title of being a medical doctor. Especially not in North America. I didn’t want to look like a glory hog. I know they tend not to value anything from Africa. But after feeling left behind in my career for so long, I started to aggressively try own very asset I have. That includes my education. That includes my title. I’m grateful when I see that some of them value it after all.

As an immigrant Doctor, I keep my identity hidden when consulting Canadian healthcare professionals. It’s the smart way to handle things. Curious to know how other Doctors handle it.

I wish I could get my money back…

From all the LinkedIn business coaches I worked with in the past few months.

Looking back now, I realize I was operating from anxiety and hurry. I wanted to be profitable asap.

And that led to errors of judgment.

Life doesn’t work that way. You can’t rush growth.

Part of my purpose is to create platforms for others to speak.

That is the essence of my podcast, Breakfast & Launch.

I’ve been working hard behind the scenes for several months now.

I’m eight episodes in, and have picked up a lot of skills in the process. I’ve gained new friends as well.

The first episode will be published unfailingly this week. Editing it was deeply enriching—goodbye to the idea of hiring a podcast editor. Why would I miss an opportunity to go through all the insights again, and carve out the narrative myself?

Thank you all for your patience.

Greatness is around the corner.

As a new pastor, insecurity ravaged me. My predominant priority, on a subconscious level, was to impress congregants. To show how insightful and spiritual I was.

I look back on those times now and chuckle. Maturity has brought relief.

I now understand that the word of God is potent in itself. It doesn’t need any flavouring added to it. Just present it as it is. It is yummy, delightful and empowering. It is what congregants truly need.

Am I more insightful now than then? Certainly. Yet, I see my insight now as an instrument of service. Not as an item of status.

Happy Sunday!

Emotional Intelligence for North American Immigrants in SaaS:

➡️ Only say complimentary things about the country you’ve moved to in casual conversations.

➡️ You moved here to their country. Honour that, and them, in the exchange.

Have you experienced any awkwardness from casual conversations at work?

It all works out in the end. 🙏🏽
