Special Olympics Program Information

Bowling - Bowling starts on Thursday January 15th at Leduc Lanes from 6 - 7:30 pm. We will run the program until the end of March. Thanks to the hard work of our board members, bowling is free (and free is good) for this session. It is imperative that you sign your athlete up on Team Snap so we can have your athletes information on file in case of an emergency. I will have Special Olympics open up our registration page and then I will resend the link.

Some notes about Bowling:

1. You must be on time and ready to start bowling at 6:00 pm. If you are 5 minutes late, you will only be able to bowl 1 game unless you have made prior arrangements with Special Olympics Leduc.

2. Text or call 780-913-7612 to let us know if you will not be attending bowling or if you are going to be late. We consider bowling on Thursdays as games and not practices.
You also must check in and check out with Bernadette as she will have attendance sheets. By doing this, you are showing a commitment to your sport and respect to your teammates.

3. Bowling will be cancelled if the temperature is below -25 including wind chill. This is Special Olympics Alberta's weather policy and it is available here:

Curling:

We will have another session of curling in February. The dates are February 3, 10, 17 and 24th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Curling will be at the LRC curling rink. There is no charge for curling. Come out and enjoy this classic Canadian sport. We are hoping to have a committed curling program in the future so we are offering these practice sessions to introduce athletes to the sport.

Swimming:

Swimming will resume after Bowling is finished. We are in the process of arranging swimming lanes and finalizing times and dates.
Swimming will be free for this session.

Bocce:

Bocce ball will resume in the spring. Stay tuned for dates, times and practice areas.

Special Olympics Leduc supports inclusive athletic achievement in a safe, well trained environment. Our athletes inspire us and we make their world a little brighter and safer. Currently, we are running a bowling program starting January 15th at 6 pm at Leduc Lanes. We subsidize this program so that the cost is less to our athletes. If you are interested, please email [email protected] and let us know if you want to join up. The first day of bowling to see if you like it is free.
