Wow what a weekend!
So as many of you know, this past weekend our girls played in the final Alberta Volleyball Provincials. Our girls had worked their way up during the season to land themselves in the Division 1 tournament. We entered the tournament amongst the best 24 Teams across the province ranked 17th. In our Pool we would have the #5 seed, the #8 seed and #20 seed. We went 2 and 1 in pool play and finished 2nd in our pool. We then played the Panthers in our crossover and won to put us in Top 8 for Sunday.
The girls knew they were in tough as they were now playing with best 8 teams in the province, but they were ready.
After a couple of tight losses, the girls finished the day by beating SPVC in 3 sets to capture 7th place in the entire province!!๐๐
Now for every other team this was just a normal provincial tournament, but for us it was much moreโฆโฆ..
Our girls started their U15 year by making the decision to play up a whole age category and jump up into the U16 category. They wanted to be challenged and to use the year to grow and really had no idea what it would look like.
What would happen throughout the year would become an unbelievable story. They worked hard, they challenged themselves and most importantly they believed in each other. The Coaching Staff and the entire team pushed themselves to grow.
In the end, it was an incredible ending.
They earned their spot and proved that even though they were a year younger they belonged! After an entire year of playing some of the best teams in Alberta, our girls ended up as the #7 Team in the province in the U16 division!!๐๐๐๐
What an incredible year and an amazing accomplishment!
We are very proud of all of them๐โค๏ธ
One last tournament to go
Watch for us at the end of the month playing in โThe Clawโ
