If you are just like me, tired after your 9 to 5 job and tend to eat from outside, order in fast food, or looking for snacks late at night. You can try this meal for breakfast or dinner. Food we eat must satisfy our taste buds, if not we end up overeating until over cravings are satisfied.

ඔයත් මම වගේ 9-5 රැකියාවක් කරන කෙනෙක් නම්, මහන්සිය නිසාම පිටතින් ආහාර ගන්න හෝ ක්ශණික අහාර ගන්න පෙළෙඹෙන ප්‍රවණතාවය වැඩී නම් ඔයාට ඉතාම පහසුවෙන් මේ ආහාර වේල උදෑසන අහාරය ලෙස හෝ රාත්‍රී ආහාරය ලෙස සකසා ගන්න පුළුවන්. ලංකාවේ අපි අලිගැටපේර පළතුරක් ලෙස සැළකුවත්, බටහිර රටවල එය ඉතාම පෝෂණීය ආහාර පිරවුමක් හෝ paste එකක් ලෙස භාවිතා කරනවා. අපි ගන්න ආහාර අපිව සතුටුකරවන සහ පෝෂණීය වීම ඉතාම වැදගත්. එහෙම නැති වුණොත් අපි නොදැනුවත්වම අනවශ්‍ය ක්ශණික ආහාර වලට පෙළඹෙනවා.

Back to basics!
- As I moved to 🇨🇦, I had to stop my job as a Yoga instructor and embrace a whole new life for the time being.
- After dedicating two years for post-grad studies, I was finally able to take care of my health, the way I want to. So I joined the gym.
- Unfortunately I had a knee injury, so I wanted to not risk my health doing complex workouts. Also, my job in healthcare comes in between my own health due to the workload, lengthy shifts and weekend working. So my rest time is very limited.
- So I decided to bring my gym back to my home, as I did back in 🇱🇰. Because I cannot give up on my health no matter how hard it is to be consistent.
- So here’s where I currently spend my time of self-care.

Quick breakfast
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 Banana
- Few Raspberries
- 2 tb spoons of unsweetened Yoghurt
- 1 tea spoon of Maple Syrup

Meal Prepping🥗

Having a tight weekly schedule makes us choose instant/fast food over a nutritious meal. So, to avoid the over consumption of fast food we can prepare food in advance and refrigerate.

Here I have prepared cucumber, tomatoes, chicken breast and eggs. So that when I’m hungry I can mix them together and add spices and dressings to make a salad. I usually add salt, pepper, yoghurt and lime to my salad.

I don’t count calories, but I try to eat natural food as much as possible, so that I can improve my health and also eat fast food guilt-free.

❄️Mind-Body exercises for winter❄️

Currently I'm experiencing my first winter in Canada and mind-body changes come with it too.

Winters reduces serotonin in our body due to less sunlight. So, to produce more body heat we should be active as much as we can.

Mindfulness meditation and Yoga helps to maintain a positive mood and a warm body in winter.

Still learning about seasonal changes, appropriate food and activity for each season. Everything is new and I'm learning with a grateful heart♥️

My travel companion🥜👜✔️


Keeping a small box of nuts/dry-fruits with you will help to satisfy your hunger or cravings when travelling. Having this, you don't have to deprive yourself until you reach somewhere to eat. Most importantly, it helps you avoid choosing fast food. I started this habit about 4 years ago and it has helped me stay full, satisfied, focused and aware.
