The Rust is Real – First Prep Night in the Books!

Great to see everyone back on the floor last night at North London Optimist! We had a solid turnout of 16 runners and two goalies, which is a fantastic start to the 2026 season.

The Highlights:

Solid Netminding: Huge thanks to Cie and our new goalie, Matt, for coming out. Between the two of them, we saw some incredible stops that made the runners work for every goal.

The "Wooden Floor" Factor: If you felt like your bounce was off, you weren't alone. The wood definitely played differently than the arena floor, and it took a while for everyone to adjust.

It’s Always the Stick: There was plenty of "winter rust" on display. Many of us spent the night wondering why our sticks weren't shooting like they used to—clearly, the sticks are the problem, not the six months away from the game!

The Cardio Reality Check: Some of us (myself included) found out quickly that running the full length of the floor is a bit different than thinking about it. I had planned on "just standing there," but Cie had other ideas. Thanks for the push!

The Road to 4 Teams
While we had a great crew out, we also received regrets from several people who couldn't make it last night but are locked in for the season. Between the current attendance and those returning soon, we have a real possibility of expanding our team format from last year!

The Challenge: We are pushing to grow the league. If everyone brings just one friend out to the next session, we can easily hit the numbers needed for a full 4-team rotation. Let’s get those friends you've been talking to out on the floor.

London Masters Lacrosse 2026: Schedule, Early-Bird Promo, and the 4-Team Challenge!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a good winter and are looking forward to an early spring!

Our goal this year is to build on the success we had last season with refs, timekeeping, and teams, including our field evenings at City Wide. We are even aiming for a return to a structured, competitive 4-team league format!
The 2026 Schedule

"Stick-in-Hand" Prep Nights (North London Optimist CC)

Dates: Monday, March 16 and Monday, April 6

Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: 1345 Cheapside St. (Highbury & Cheapside)

Fee: $5 per night (collected at the door or via e-transfer)

Focus: These are open-floor sessions to get the rust off. We’ll gauge the turnout for drills and scrimmaging.

Regular Season (Earl Nichols Arena: Pad A)

Dates: Wednesday nights, April 22 to August 26 (18 nights total)

Time: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Blackout Date: We are OFF on Wednesday, May 20th due to a Junior game conflict.

The Format: Pending our commitment levels, we plan to continue with referees and timekeepers starting in May.

Help Shape the Future of London Masters Lax – Your Feedback & Participation Needed!

We had a fantastic 2025 season, starting with our indoor masters lacrosse from May to August, where the formation of teams and competitive series made the games especially exciting and challenging. This was followed by three great nights of field lacrosse under the lights, on the turf at City Wide. We are excited about our plans to expand the league from just box lacrosse to include field lacrosse as well, with possibly expanded field set to grow for the 2026 season.

This winter, we're exploring opportunities for additional indoor floor time to keep our skills sharp and active during the colder months ( will update as we are able to confirm location ).

Then, starting late April to early May 2026, we’ll be back at the Kinsmen arena, looking to expand the competitive play.

Hello everyone,

Last week’s first outdoor session was a huge success - great turnout, perfect weather, and plenty of touches for everyone! Tomorrow’s forecast is looking just as good, and we're hoping to see even more of you out on the turf.

Details for Monday, Sept 29:

Field: City Wide (just east of Highbury on Commissioners)

Set Up: Nets go up by 6:15pm—early arrivals welcome for warmup and shooting

Game Time: 6:30pm–7:30pm (feel free to come early)

Payment: Please send your E-Transfer payment to [email protected] if you haven’t already ($40 for the series or $20 for one night)

A few notes:

We had about 16 players last week and tons of open field time so there was no shortage of shifts!

We played just before a women’s soccer team, so we shared the field, as we where using 1/2 ( side to side ) and flexing our time so everyone got full use.

If you have a long pole, bring it out - lots where trying it out as we had 2 last week - let’s try some different setups!

We have two goalies confirmed again for tomorrow.

Come for the game and the fall weather. Whether you’re a regular or haven’t played in a while, now’s the perfect time to join in.

Hello London Masters Laxers,

After an awesome summer indoor box season, we’re excited to try something new and keep the stick work going - this time under the lights and out in the fresh air!

We’ve secured turf at City Wide Fields (Commissioners & Highbury) for three weeks starting Monday, September 22nd. Field time is from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, with the field open from 6:00pm for warmups and shooting. We’ll be using the field-sized 6x6 nets and adapting the play style based on turnout. Going to try a blend of Masters, Sixes, and field lacrosse, with two goalies already committed. Whatever the mix, it’s all about getting out, moving, and keeping the sticks in hand going post-season!

Thanks to the positive response thus far, this is officially a go and I have contract with the city. If this outdoor run is popular, we’re also exploring indoor turf options for the coming winter to keep lacrosse going year-round.
