Labour Day Weekend at Sharon Creek

Here’s when we’ll be open for the long weekend, weather and conditions permitting:

🛶 Saturday, September 5: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM UPDATED

🛶 Sunday, September 6: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

🍁 Labour Day Monday, September 7: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

A few reminders before heading out:

- Bring your membership card (digital or printed) and photo ID for adult members.
- Please have all boats and equipment returned at least 15 minutes before closing.
- Hours are always weather permitting, so check our social media before heading out if the weather looks questionable.

A big thank you to the volunteers giving some of their long weekend so our members can get out on the water. Enjoy the Labour Day weekend!

Labour Day Weekend Volunteers Needed

We’re looking for a little extra volunteer help to make the most of the long weekend at Sharon Creek!

🙋 Saturday, September 5: We have coverage from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM and are looking for a volunteer to cover 1:00–4:00 PM so we can stay open for the full day.

🛶 Sunday, September 6: We have coverage from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

🍁 Labour Day Monday: Would anyone like to open the Club? If you’re an experienced Sharon Creek volunteer, you can choose the hours that work for you. Even a few hours would give members another opportunity for a holiday paddle.

If you can cover a shift, please send us a message.

We're open Tuesday, September 1 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Please have boats back by 7:45/ See you at Sharon Creek!

We're opening at 6 pm tonight. The weather looks like it'll hold. If our volunteers don't see any members by 6:30 they might head out on the water themselves.

We're closed Sunday, August 30 due to weather. Check back Monday afternoon to confirm evening hours.

Weekly Update – Aug. 29 to Sept. 1

Another week of paddling ahead at Sharon Creek! Here’s the schedule, weather permitting:

Saturday, Aug. 29: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (UPDATED)

Sunday, Aug. 30: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Monday, Aug. 31: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

With the earlier sunsets, we expect Monday and Tuesday to be our final evening paddling hours of the season, so take advantage of them while you can!

Absolutely beautiful evening at Sharon Creek. Lots of members out paddling. Closing at 8 pm due to sunsetting earlier.

Monday & Tuesday Evening Update

We’ll be opening tonight (Monday) at 6:00 PM at Sharon Creek. With the less-than-perfect weather, if we don’t have any members out paddling by 7:00 PM, our volunteer will close up early.

Tuesday is looking better! We’ll be open 6:00–8:00 PM tomorrow. With sunset getting earlier, we’re shortening our evening hours by 30 minutes.

Summer may be winding down, but there’s still time to get out on the water!

Sunday Update

Good news! The weather is looking much better today, with just a small chance of rain.

As long as conditions hold, we’ll be open at Sharon Creek from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM today.

⏰ Please remember to have all boats back by 3:45 PM, 15 minutes before closing.

After yesterday’s weather kept us off the water, we’re looking forward to seeing some paddlers today!

⛈️ Saturday Closure – August 22

With thunderstorms in the forecast, the London Canoe Club will not open at Sharon Creek today, Saturday, August 22. We don’t want our members caught on the water when a storm rolls through.

We expect to be open Sunday from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, weather permitting. Please check our page for any updates before heading out.
