Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate our 2 Varsity swimmers Seamus Chan and Dominic Lee that raced at the 2026 MAC Winter Long Course Invitational this past weekend in Markham as they continue their pursuit to make Usports times and the men’s Western swim team again!!!! 🏊♂️🏊♂️🏁 Both Seamus and Dominic starting racing this past Friday in Markham at the Markham Pan Am Centre (MPAC) and were able to make finals at the swim meet 💪 Unfortunately, due to inclement weather (i.e. the big snow storm 🌨️ this past Sunday) they were not able to participate in finals on Sunday 😔 But nevertheless Dominic was still able to achieve a personal best time in his 100m butterfly twice (once in prelims and again in finals) and Seamus was able to be within striking distance of his personal best times, as he made his return to racing for the 1st time since last fall, which was exceptional to see 👏 Both Seamus and Dominic requalified in further events for the upcoming Ontario Age Group Championships in March at Scarborough and are continuing to look forward to the journey ahead as they get another step closer to achieving their end goals!

Special mention also goes out to Ashna Chodavarapu, Norah Francis-Kappos, Laila Hashad, and Rylee McNamme who all competed in their first ever competitive swim meet 🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️ All of these swimmers blew away both the coaching staffs’ expectations of how they would do at the swim meet as well as their entry times👍 However, what Coach Bailey and Coach Mackenzie are most proud of is that all of them certainly came away from the swim meet with invaluable life experiences, wonderful lessons, and further belief in themselves that will serve them well in the future both in and out of the pool 🙂
