Still waiting.... time is ticking. NOW IS THE TIME. I'm so upset and worried about both Tsuki and her owner. Shes tried to find a place for Tsuki to go so they won't both be homeless. ๐ฅบ๐

Please someone.... even a mud room, garage. ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
There's a foster for Tsuki but can't take her until June 16th. Unfortunately, her family and Tsuki will be homeless this week. Any chance you could temporarily foster?
Doesn't do well with female dogs and would go after cats. Male dogs good and people. That's the catch.

Sadly, her owner said they will be homeless soon. This is why her owner reached out to help find a new home for her girl.

๐พ๐จFOSTER NEEDED๐จ๐พ
Name:Tsuki (tsuki-hime)
Age:4 years old
Husky (75%)/Labrador (25%)
S*x: Female
Medium/Large Breed
Good with kids: She loves kids but she can be rambunctious which is why being present is needed for small children. Being in a home with a bit older of children that are a bit bigger then her would be best.
She loves people. No specific gender dislikes.
Good with cats: No, she hunts them
Good with other dogs: She is good with male dogs, with females she seems to want to peck her role in the group.
๐ She is best to be the only female dog
Any sizes not good with: Small animals.
Any food guarding issues: I'm not sure.
Any issues touching certain areas of their body: Her tail. She allows me to touch and grab it in a playful way. She want to get away more then anything and doesn't try to bite or anything like that, its just a touchy part she dislikes people touching.
House trained: Yes
Leash trained: She pulls a lot since she is a husky but is fine on a leash usually.
Any bite incidents: No
Any behaviour issues: iffy with female dogs, it depends. With a pack of dogs she usually falls in line. Sometimes she meets a dog that doesn't like her play which is why I'll wait until she finds a good match that likes to play fight and explore with her.
Tell me about temperament/play: She is a calm dog when chilling at home, she absolutely adores people. She likes to play wrestle with other male dogs when I was back in the states. She is extremely smart and can be trained the only thing is she sometimes ignores you if she sees something she really likes. She loves exploring, sniffing and being around others.
Likes/dislikes: She loves food and will watch you make yours hoping she gets a scrap, she loves being around male dogs, a pack, or people.
๐พFosters are required to own or have access to a vehicle (to take your foster animal to and from appointments, adoption events, meet and greets, as well as adoption finalizations)

When I took the OSPCA Agent training, we were told that dog fighting rings are hard to find. That they are so underground. If people actually spoke up when they see unusual activity in their area, it wouldn't be so difficult. Just makes me sick that this goes on. These disgusting humans with no regard for life.

Excellent!!! ๐๐๐ Provincial Animal Welfare Services worked on this. They did an interview with me.... I had posted in various band animal welfare groups, etc., to get people's feedback. They wanted a general consensus about First Nations views.
Although docking wasn't up with time, it's breeders that push back. Shame on them... so self-centered. It's nothing about the dogs.
Great News for All the Animals in Ontario ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ & thank you to anyone & everyone involved in making this a reality in my lifetime ๐๐ผ๐๐ผโค๏ธ๐พ

Happens many times in various forms. Not just someone that just wanted money. So many time wasters. Then they come back again. How about not getting more animals. Do them a favour along with us in animal welfare.
REHOMED BY OWNER FOR MONEY
To say Iโm frustrated would be an understatement.
I have tried to stay committed to helping with owner surrenders because I know there are families out there who genuinely need support. But lately, itโs becoming harder and harder to justify.
We put in the time. We line up fosters. We arrange transportation. We organize vet files and make sure everything is set up so these dogs can transition safely and smoothly.
Only to be told, the day of transport, that the dog has been sold.
No conversation. No heads up. Just a you're no longer needed.
Let that sink in.
Our time matters. Our fostersโ time matters. The effort that goes into coordinating these saves is not disposable.
And letโs talk about the bigger issue here. This was an 11 month old puppy who has never seen a vet. No vaccines. No deworming. No basic care. And instead of doing right by her, she was sold off for money.
Thatโs not just irresponsible. Itโs unacceptable.
Rescue is not a backup plan until a better offer comes along. These are living beings, not transactions.
Situations like this are exactly why rescues burn out and why programs get shut down. And honestly, I am very close to pulling back from owner surrenders entirely because of it.
If you reach out for help, be ready to follow through. Respect the process. Respect the people trying to help you.
Because right now, this isnโt it. I'M TIRED OF MY KINDNESS BEING TAKEN FOR WEAKNESS, AND I WILL BE PUTTING AN END TO THAT.
๏ฟผ i'm sorry that your owner is a piece of garbage, Pepper.

Did you know piglets are still subjected to invasive procedures and killed as part of Canadian military training exercises โ despite the availability of modern, non-animal alternatives that are increasingly being adopted around the world?
A new e-petition launched by Sue-Anne Atkins, an activist from Cornwall, Ontario, is calling on the Government of Canada to prohibit the use of live animals, including piglets, in Canadian Armed Forces medical and trauma training and to transition fully to modern, non-animal simulation technologies.
Following key information obtained through an Access to Information request, we played a role in exposing this practice in 2023 through the release of our report, Defenceless: Animal-Based Trauma Training in the Canadian Military. Yet despite growing public concern and the availability of humane alternatives, the federal government has still failed to take meaningful action.
