It’s been awhile and some things have changed so here we go:
My name is Adrienne. I’m a soon-to-be 40 year old mom of 4 kids age 7 and under.
I have recently gone back to school to pursue a graduate degree in counselling psychology.
I am passionate about supporting the emotional well-being and mental health of families through education and empowerment.
I am curious and always looking for root causes to problems. I love researching, learning and growing in my professional and personal life.
I know the emotional and mental load of parenting well. Coping strategies are my jam.
I strive to find practical ways to simplify and reframe challenging aspects of parenting.
I function best with a 20 min daily yoga practice and a cup of tea.
I LOVE animals and being outside. I have an obsession with trees and find watching them both captivating and relaxing.
I’m a believer in knowing what feels right for your family, and mothering your own way ❤️

Yes!! Read that again : “when they are able to do it without you - they will do it without out you”.
Don’t force it, it will only create stress for both you and baby ❤️❤️
Babies usually fall asleep and stay asleep easily in someone’s arms / at the breast. They won’t always. When they are able to do it without you - they will do it without you. Until then, why make your life harder by trying to get a young baby (who is incapable of self soothing) to self soothe. Use your body as a tool to help your baby. It will likely get your baby to sleep quicker, help them to stay asleep quicker and that allow you to rest too

Back to school!
I’ve been kind of quiet on here lately as I find a new routine of being a student again.
After thinking about what I want the next phase of life to “look like” for me and how I could achieve some career goals, I made the decision to put myself out there and apply for a graduate degree in counselling psychology.
My passion for helping and nurturing runs deep and I was longing for better ways to support my clients.
I am excited to begin this journey in the Master’s of Counselling Psychology program and am looking forward to joining the already amazing team of mental health professionals in our community.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who encouraged me and supported me through the application process. 💋

Cottage Summer 2022 that’s a wrap! ☀️❤️
It’s been a summer full of firsts. First time water skiing for the kids, first time canoeing and kayaking with Bobby, first time fishing off the dock, first summer doing yoga on the dock.
But also, the first summer without having Grandpa and Grandma up at the cottage all summer making all these memories right along side us.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful space with us. We are so grateful ❤️☀️

Yoga ❤️
For the last couple of months I have been creating a new routine for myself. A routine that includes a daily yoga practice. It doesn’t have to be long and intense and full of sweat and intensity. It’s about 20-30 minutes of movement and breath and it has dramatically changed how I feel both physically and emotionally.
In the past, I would make completing a task or simply resting (not very often) the priority over moving my body in a mindful way. I was so tired from all the littles, the interrupted sleep and the many things that needed to get done for our home and our family.
But you know what? Taking 20-30 mins a day for myself to do this practice actually helped me be able to do more and accomplish more, and, best of all feel better showing up to do.
What’s your self care routine?
❤️❤️

The weight of your tiny body on mine.
Your little hand on my chest.
The rising and falling of our tummies
together as I breastfeed you and belly breathe you to sleep. ❤️

Taking some time away this summer to spend with my kids. Lately I am often reminded that they aren’t little forever.
It’s the little reminders that catch me off guard. All of sudden they can pour their own cereal and milk, they can buckle their own seat belt, brush their own teeth…they don’t need you as much anymore. And while you thought that this is what you wanted, that this is what you’d been waiting for because you are so damn tired….it lands a little differently than you expected. And you think: I may never get to do that for/with them again…

Would you like an opportunity to share your birthstory?
Storytelling circles have been used in many cultures and for many generations as a way of passing down knowledge, but also as a way of healing.
Come out to connect and share your story in a safe space where compassionate silence will be held.
All stories and birthing humans or birthing partners welcome ❤️ 🌈

On December 24th this little man turned 5. Where has the time gone. Samwise, I love watching your personality grow. Your sense of humour, turns of phrase, your very literal interpretations of everything, your kindness and sense of adventure are the best.
Happy birthday buddy. Love you to the moon and back and back again. 🌙 ✨
