Look what the Black Woman can do. Moncton, New Brunswick (and even some women from further!!) showed UP this week. Yes, when Dj Yaji is at the booth, the vibes are always right, but this was so much more than that. Black Women from all walks of entrepreneurship did more than create connections, they held space, they poured into each other, they sparked something that’s already growing.
Blk Women in Excellence (BWIE) is all about bringing Atlantic Canadian Black women from all over the diaspora together and giving them the in-depth resources they need to succeed. Her questions for the panel went deep. The room didn’t just bring great questions that supported each other, they opened up and shared their own insights too.
Our skills and crafts are excellent but we need the resources and support that match. BWIE created a safe space for the Black Women of New Brunswick to lean on an existing platform and start building our own toolkit.
Grateful. Thankful. BLESSED to have been a part of this, and it’s only the beginning! ✊🏾💕🚀
Also big shoutout to Brix Experience for hosting us at St. George Wine & Events. Definitely a must book for an elevated atmosphere and rooftop views!

We deserve elite spaces, purpose built to help us grow, together. We don’t need more photo ops and mentorship, we need rooms solving real problems. Helping us execute.
So when itistiaupshaw reached out about Blk Women in Excellence (BWIE) ‘s Pan Atlantic Idea to Income Project, my immediate answer was “say less”!
There is enough room at the table for everyone and we can all eat (ok not literally because spots are limited so please register at the link in my bio, but it is FREE thank you to BWIE).
If you’re a Black Woman Entrepreneur anywhere in New Brunswick please join us on Wed Aug 26 in Moncton for a networking party with panel discussion including yours truly, Qoral Employability Services Inc. and Rayven L.🍃
And no matter where you are in Atlantic Canada, you can join my workshop, Aligning Around What Customers Actually Value on Thursday Aug 27 (also on the link in my bio).
Come build your network and get the support you need to unlock real growth!

I mean… how perfect is this dress?!
I won a raffle at the She Means Business event and one of the prizes was a $100 gift card to Lassos & Lace Boutique.
But honestly, getting to meet the owner, Harlee, was just as exciting. She’s built her business by learning on the fly, getting creative (including a travelling store in a trailer!), and focusing on quality. She even tests everything herself before bringing pieces into the shop.
No one asked me to post this. I just genuinely love seeing women build thoughtful businesses and wanted to share one that impressed me.
Excited to watch and boutique keep growing. 💛

Most of the companies I worked in grew faster than anyone expected.
Which sounds great… until the chaos shows up.
Teams start scrambling.
Processes break.
Customers need support.
Leaders want structure.
So the instinct is always the same:
“Let’s implement systems.”
New tools.
New workflows.
New dashboards.
But sitting in the middle of revenue, customers, and operations for over a decade taught me something important:
Systems don’t fix unclear businesses.
They just scale whatever strategy already exists.
That’s why the order matters:
Strategy → Systems → Ex*****on.
And if you know a woman building a business right now, send this to her.
Too many women are trying to figure this out alone.
Let’s support the ones building — and help them build strategically.
