And that’s actually the secret.
Rest days aren’t slacking, skipping, or “falling off.” They’re part of the process. Your muscles grow when you recover, not when you’re grinding nonstop. If you’re training hard, you need those days where you step back, recharge, and let your body do its job.
The people who stay consistent long term aren’t the ones doing the most every single day, they’re the ones who respect recovery just as much as training.
So take your rest days. They’re doing more for your progress than you think.

Tom De Angelis Fitness is all about helping you with a fitness, nutrition and health program that is realistic, works with your lifestyle, and gets you results.
I move my body every day, even if it’s short. No zero days.
I have a bedtime.
I eat like someone who needs energy, not just comfort.
I play with my kids at their level. On the floor, outside, fully present.
I keep promises to myself, especially the small ones.
I remind myself this isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up again tomorrow.
They’re simple. They’re not easy. But they matter.
Because it’s the skipped workout.
The “I’ll start tomorrow.”
The habits you know aren’t helping you… but you keep choosing them anyway.
Easy feels good for a moment.
But it compounds into something heavier.
Hard choices now?
They build a life that actually feels lighter.
So if you’ve been stuck in the loop…
this might be the sign to choose different today.
I seriously eat these all week long to hit my goals:
Greek yogurt + berries
High protein, quick, and actually keeps you full instead of grazing all day.
Cottage cheese + fruit or honey
Simple, underrated, and a solid slow-digesting protein hit.
Turkey slices + cheese roll ups
No prep, no excuses, just grab and go protein when life gets busy.
Small choices like this add up fast 💪 (skip those bars and eat whole foods!)
You don’t need a perfect plan.
You need a plan you’ll actually stick to.
The best program on paper means nothing
if you can’t stay consistent with it.
Simple. Repeatable. Sustainable.
That’s what works.
If you’re ready for a plan that actually fits your life, send me a DM for more info 💪
You don’t need to flip your whole life upside down to get healthier.
That’s usually why people quit. It’s too much, too fast.
Start smaller than you think.
Add one habit.
Stick with it.
Then add another.
That’s how real change actually lasts.
This is where everything slows down.
No noise. No distractions.
Just me, putting in the work.
Resetting my head.
Refilling my energy so I can show up better everywhere else.
This isn’t just a workout.
It’s time I owe myself.
Starting a running club is cool… but what if we started a results club instead?
Where you actually follow a plan.
Have a coach guiding you.
And stop guessing your way through a “health makeover.”
That’s the difference.
Structure, accountability, and a process that works.
If you and your buddies are ready for real results, not just good intentions, DM me.
Tom's Tips: Try this instead of overcomplicating everything:
Build your meals around protein first.
Then add in whole foods around it.
It keeps you full, keeps your energy steady,
and makes everything else easier.
Simple shift. Big difference. 💪
I get it. I’m an Italian dad of 2.
This isn’t about being perfect… it’s about having a plan that actually fits your life. That’s exactly how I coach my clients to success.
